Olympic fencers for Germany

Britta Heidemann (born 22 December 1982) is a German épée fencer. In 2016, Heidemann became a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Imke Duplitzer (born 28 July 1975 in Karlsruhe) is a German épée fencer. Imke is a four time Olympian (2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012) where she placed 10th, 5th, 5th, and 29th respectively (in the individual competition). She also fenced in three team events at the Olympics, and at the 2004 Summer Olympics she won the silver medal in the team épée competition with Britta Heidemann and Claudia Bokel. During the 2006 World Fencing Championships, she won the bronze medal after beating Romania in the épée team event together with her teammates Claudia Bokel, Britta Heidemann and Marijana Markovic. She is also a two-time European Champion in the individual event (1999 & 2010) as well as being a part of the gold medal-winning team in 1998.

Peter Joppich (born 21 December 1982) is a German foil fencer.

Helene Julie Mayer (20 December 1910 – 10 October 1953) was a German-born fencer who won the gold medal at the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam, and the silver medal at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. She competed for Nazi Germany in Berlin, despite having been forced to leave Germany in 1935 and resettle in the United States because she was Jewish. She was studying in an American University and later returned to Germany in 1952 where she died of breast cancer.

Ricarda Multerer (born 5 April 1990) is a German épée fencer. She is right-handed. Multerer will compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Monika Sozanska (born 13 March 1983) is a Polish- German épée fencer. She has won several medals at the German Championships. Sozanska competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Carolin Elisabeth Golubytskyi (née Wutz, born 19 December 1985 in Bad Mergentheim, Germany) is a German foil fencer.

Alexandra Bujdoso (born 5 March 1990 in Budapest, Hungary) is a German-Hungarian sabre fencer.

Elmar Borrmann (born 18 January 1957) is a German fencer. He won a gold and silver medal in the team épée event for West Germany in 1984 and 1988 and a gold in the same event for Germany in 1992.

Zita-Eva Funkenhauser (born 1 July 1966) is a Romanian-born German fencer. In 1984 and 1988 she won two team gold and bronze medal at the Olympics competing for West Germany and a silver competing for Germany.
