Charles William Frederick Dick (November 3, 1858 – March 13, 1945) was a Republican politician from Ohio. He served in the United States House of Representatives and U.S. Senate.

Myles Lynn Deering (born 1953) is a retired Army National Guard Major General who served as the Adjutant General of Oklahoma. General Deering was appointed by Governor of Oklahoma Brad Henry in 2009 following the promotion of Harry M. Wyatt III to the position of Director, Air National Guard. On December 10, 2010, Governor-elect Mary Fallin announced that she would retain General Deering in his position as Adjutant General.

Craig Richard McKinley (born May 6, 1952) is a retired United States Air Force general who served as the 26th Chief of the National Guard Bureau, serving from 2008 to 2012. He is the first officer from the National Guard to ever achieve the grade of a four-star general.

Roger E. Combs (February 22, 1945 – August 22, 2018) was an American major general in the Air National Guard and an Associate Circuit Judge in Missouri's 4th Judicial Circuit. His last military assignment was as the Director of Strategic Plans and Policy (J-5) for the National Guard Bureau. Previously, General Combs was Assistant Adjutant General-Air and deputy commander of Joint Forces Headquarters, Missouri. He also served as the Air National Guard assistant to commander, First Air Force, Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.

Raymond H. Fleming (July 5, 1889—November 23, 1974) was a United States Army Major General who served as Chief of the National Guard Bureau, commander of the 39th Infantry Division (the "Delta Division"), and Adjutant General of Louisiana.

Frank J. Grass (born May 19, 1955) is a United States Army general who served as the 27th Chief of the National Guard Bureau.

John Chase (December 10, 1856 – May 3, 1918) was an American medical doctor and commander of the Colorado National Guard. He was the commander of the Colorado National Guard in several of the most significant confrontations between American military forces and organized labor — the Colorado Labor Wars of 1903-1904, Colorado Coalfield War, and the Ludlow Massacre of April 1914. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan where he played college football for the 1879 Michigan Wolverines football team, the first football team to represent the University of Michigan, and was captain of the 1880 team.

Egbert Erle Cocke Jr. (May 10, 1921 – April 23, 2000) was an American businessman who served as the National Commander of The American Legion from 1950 to 1951.

Brigadier General Rafael O'Ferrall (born June 29, 1954) is an Army National Guard officer who is the Deputy Commanding General for the Joint Task Force at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and the Assistant Adjutant General (Army) and Deputy Commanding General of the Joint Force Headquarters at San Juan, Puerto Rico.
