MTV Europe Music Awards

The 2008 MTV EMAs (also known as the MTV Europe Music Awards) were held at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, on 6 November 2008. It was hosted by Katy Perry. This was the second time the awards have taken place in England.

The 2004 MTV Europe Music Awards were held at Tor di Valle Racecourse, Rome, Italy. As in 2003, the awards ceremony was held in a 6,000-capacity big top arena constructed specifically for the main event.

The 1999 MTV Europe Music Awards were held in Dublin, Ireland at The Point. Ronan Keating returned as host, with performers including Mariah Carey singing "Heartbreaker", Whitney Houston singing "Get It Back" and "My Love Is Your Love", Britney Spears with "...Baby One More Time" & "(You Drive Me) Crazy", as well as The Cardigans, Jamiroquai, Marilyn Manson and The Corrs and show opener Iggy Pop.

The 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards were held on 10 November 2024 at the Co-op Live in Manchester, United Kingdom. This marks the seventh time the award show is being held in the United Kingdom.

The 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards were planned to take place on 5 November 2023 at the Paris Nord Villepinte in Paris, France. The ceremony was cancelled on 19 October due to the 2023 Israel–Hamas war, becoming the first EMAs to be cancelled in its history.

The MTV Europe Music Award for Best K-Pop has been awarded since 2021. It is one of the current Asian categories of the ceremony along with Best Asian Act and the former category Best Korean Act, though it is the first to reward artist(s) of K-pop music as a musical genre, and not as a nationality.

The 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards were held on 13 November 2022 at the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany. This marks the sixth time the award show is hosted in Germany. The show aired live on MTV with an hour long pre-show leading up to the main show. British singer Rita Ora and New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi hosted the ceremony, marking the second time Ora was a host, the first being in 2017.

The MTV Europe Music Award for Best Latin has been awarded since 2020. During the 2010s, the award show implemented the first Latin categories since the ceremony of 2013, including regional categories and the Best Latin American Act (continental category) being the predecessor of Best Latin.

The 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards were held on 14 November 2021 at the László Papp Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest, Hungary. This marked the first time that Hungary hosted the awards show and as well the first event has been held in a former communist country. The show was presented by American rapper Saweetie.
