Miloš Zeman ( born 28 September 1944) is a Czech politician serving as the third and current President of the Czech Republic since 8 March 2013. He previously served as Prime Minister of the Czech Republic from 1998 to 2002. As Leader of the Czech Social Democratic Party during the 1990s, he transformed his party into one of the country's major political forces. Zeman was Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of the Czech parliament, from 1996 until he became Prime Minister two years later in 1998.

Václav Benda (August 8, 1946, Prague – June 2, 1999) was a Czech Roman Catholic activist and intellectual, and mathematician. Under Communist rule in Czechoslovakia, Benda was rare in being a believing Christian while also a senior member of the anti-communist dissident organization Charter 77. After the Velvet Revolution, Benda became the head of an organization charged with investigating the former Communist secret police and their informants.

Ivan Čarnogurský (27 May 1933 – 9 November 2022) was a Slovak businessman and politician. A member of the Christian Democratic Movement, he served in the Chamber of People from June to December 1992.

Stanislav Žalud (22 February 1932 – 14 November 2023) was a Czech architect and politician. A member of the Civic Forum and the Civic Democratic Party, he served in the Federal Assembly of Czechoslovakia from 1990 to 1992.
