She is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, and as of August 2012, the most successful female beach volleyball player with 112 individual championship wins in domestic and international competition.

Landon Timothy Donovan (born March 4, 1982) is an American retired professional soccer player who is currently the manager, co-founder, and vice-president of soccer operations for USL Championship side San Diego Loyal SC.

Bradley Wayne Penny (born May 24, 1978) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. Penny played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Florida / Miami Marlins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, and Detroit Tigers, and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. He was an All Star in 2006 and 2007.

Carlos Manuel Bocanegra (born May 25, 1979) is an American sports executive and former professional soccer player. A two-time MLS Defender of the Year, Bocanegra also played professionally in England, Scotland, France, and Spain. He earned over 100 caps with the United States, serving as captain for six years. He is currently serving as technical director and vice president for Atlanta United.

Aaron Wells Peirsol (born July 23, 1983) is an American former competition swimmer and backstroke specialist who is a former world champion and world record-holder. He is a three-time Olympian and seven-time Olympic medalist (five gold, two silver). As a member of the U.S. national team, he holds the world record in the men's 4×100-meter medley relay (long course). Individually, he currently holds the world record in the 200-meter backstroke event (long course). In February 2011, Peirsol announced his retirement, saying, "I ended up doing everything I set out to do."

Alexandra Winfield Stevenson (born December 15, 1980) is an American former professional tennis player.

Leila Gomes de Barros (born September 30, 1971) is a Brazilian politician and a former volleyball player. She often played as opposite hitter and attacker. She was a member of the Brazilian squad who had great success in the late 1990s and early 2000s (decade), winning the 1996 and 1998 editions of the volleyball Grand Prix and being rated the most valuable player (MVP) in each win.
