    Aquilino Quilinging Pimentel Jr. (December 11, 1933 – October 20, 2019), commonly known as Nene Pimentel, was a Filipino politician and human rights lawyer who was one of the leading political opposition leaders during the regime of Ferdinand Marcos from the declaration of martial law in 1972 until the People Power Revolution in 1986, which removed Marcos from power. He co-founded the country's current ruling party Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) and served as the President of the Senate of the Philippines from 2000–2001. He was the father of incumbent senator and former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III.

A member of the Liberal Party, he is the Member of the House of Representatives, Uy represented the First District of Cagayan de Oro City from 2007 to 2010, he is also a contender for the mayoralty in Cagayan de Oro but lost to then-vice mayor Dongkoy Emano. Uy won as Barangay Captain of Carmen Cagayan de Oro at the 2010 Philippine barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, succeeding his wife, former captain Lorna Uy. Rolando Uy run again as congressman in the First District of Cagayan de Oro City in the 2013 mid-term election and won more than 28,000 votes to his opponent, former Congressman Benjo A. Benaldo.

    Segundo Gastón y Soriba (June 2, 1887–1939) was the mayor of Cagayan de Misamis from 1916 to 1919, Governor of Misamis from 1923 to 1925, and Representative of Misamis's 1st district from 1925 to 1928 and of Misamis Oriental's lone district from 1934 to 1935. The Gaston Park in Cagayan de Oro is named after him. The National Assembly of the Philippines made a resolution about his passing for his work as a representative in the seventh and tenth Philippine legislatures.
