Libraries in Namibia

Ohangwena Regional Study and Resource Center (ORSRC) is a library at the Helao Nafidi town council. The library opened in 2014, and it was officially opened by then-president of the Republic of Namibia, Hifikepunye Pohamba.

The Greenwell Matongo Community Library is situated in the Greenwell Matongo area of Katutura, a township of Windhoek, Namibia. The name derives from a freedom fighter Greenwell Matongo who fought for the liberation of Namibia.

The National Library of Namibia (NLN) is the legal deposit and copyright library for Namibia. The library is situated in Windhoek. NLN belongs to the National Library and Archives service of the Namibian government, in the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture. The National Library is guided by a Policy Framework for Libraries and Allied Information Agencies for Namibia of 1997 and the Namibia Library and Information Service Act 4 of 2000.

The National Museum of Namibia is a historical and zoological museum in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. It is governed by the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture of the Namibian government.

The Windhoek Public Library is a public library in downtown Windhoek, Namibia. Built in 1925, it is located in Lüderitz Street, sharing a building with the Owela strand of the National Museum of Namibia. From February 2009 to August 2012 the library underwent renovations worth N$ 700,000, which included replacing the carpets with ceramic tiles, adding air conditioning, increasing lighting, and creating a public internet cafe.
