Lebanese Salafis

Fadel Abdul Rahman Shamander Chaker (Arabic: فضل عبد الرحمن شمندر شاكر‎ also transliterated as Fadl Shaker, born 1 April 1969) is a Lebanese singer. During his musical career he was signed to Al Khouyoul Records and from 2003 onwards with Rotana Records.

Wadih Elias el-Hage (Arabic: وديع الحاج‎, Wadī‘ al-Ḥāj) (born July 25, 1960) is a Lebanese-born American former al-Qaeda member who is serving life imprisonment in the United States based on conspiracy charges for the 1998 United States embassy bombings. He was indicted and arrested in 1998, and convicted on all counts and sentenced to life without parole in 2001. His sentence was overturned in 2008 because it was based on federal mandatory sentencing guidelines invalidated by the US Supreme Court in 2005. He was re-sentenced to life without parole in 2013. El-Hage and his co-defendants are currently in the supermax prison known as ADX Florence.

Ahmad Al-Assir (born 5 May 1968) is the former Imam of the Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque in Sidon, South Lebanon. With his increasing involvement in regional politics after the Syrian Civil War began and his interaction with the media, he has become a notorious personality in Lebanon's current political landscape. Al-Assir is a Salafi. He frequently agitates against Iran and Hezbollah, whom he accuses of being a threat to the fragile sectarian balance and democracy of Lebanon.
