The E3 series (E3系) is a Japanese Shinkansen high-speed train type built for Komachi services which commenced on 3 June 1997, coinciding with the opening of the new Akita Shinkansen "mini-shinkansen" line, a regular 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in) narrow-gauge line between Morioka and Akita re-gauged to 1,435 mm () standard gauge. Later versions of the E3 series were also introduced for use on Yamagata Shinkansen Tsubasa services. Both "mini-shinkansen" lines join the Tohoku Shinkansen, providing services to and from Tokyo.

The Toei 12-600 series (都営12-600形, Toei 12-600-gata) is an electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by the Tokyo subway operator Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation (Toei) on the Toei Oedo Line in Tokyo, Japan. The first 12-600 series first entered service in 2012. A total of 22 eight-car sets were built from 2011 by Kawasaki and Nippon Sharyo.

The E5 series (Japanese: E5系, Hepburn: E5-kei) and the related H5 series (Japanese: H5系, Hepburn: H5-kei) are Japanese Shinkansen high-speed train types built by Hitachi Rail and Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

The Taipei Metro C371 is the fourth generation of heavy-capacity rolling stock used on the Taipei Metro in Taipei, Taiwan. Built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Taiwan Rolling Stock Company between 2005 and 2009, it was introduced on the Tamsui, Xindian, and Zhonghe Lines in 2006 and on the Xinbeitou and Xiaobitan branch lines in 2007.

The Taipei Metro C381 is the fifth and the latest generation of heavy-capacity electric multiple unit trains on the Taipei Metro in Taipei, Taiwan. A total of 144 train cars were jointly built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and the Taiwan Rolling Stock Company, and began operation in 2012. They are currently in service on Tamsui–Xinyi line and Songshan–Xindian line.

The 323 series (323系, 323-kei) is a DC electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West) on the Osaka Loop Line in Osaka, Japan, since December 2016. The trains replaced the ageing 103 series and 201 series trains.

The 103 series (103系, 103-kei) is a DC electric multiple unit (EMU) commuter train type introduced in 1963 by Japanese National Railways (JNR), and currently operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West) and Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu). They were also operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central).

The Korail Class 1000 was a series of electric multiple units built in Seoul, South Korea, for Seoul Subway Line 1. The cars were built in and entered service between 1974 and 1997. They were gradually retired from the late 1990s to 2020 by newer electric multiple unit trains.

The R188 is a class of new technology (NTT) New York City Subway cars built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries for the A Division. The fleet entered service in 2013, displacing the mid-1980s–era R62A cars that operated on the 7 and <7> services, in conjunction with the automation of the IRT Flushing Line's signal system with communications-based train control (CBTC). The R188 order also expanded the 7's fleet as part of the 7 Subway Extension, which opened in 2015.
