Jewish film festivals

San Francisco Jewish Film Festival is the oldest Jewish film festival in the world, and currently the largest with a 2016 attendance figure of 40,000 at screenings in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, San Rafael, and Palo Alto. The three-week summer festival is held in San Francisco, California, usually at the Castro Theater in San Francisco and other cinemas in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, San Rafael, and Palo Alto, and features contemporary and classic independent Jewish film from around the world. In 2015, the organization re-branded itself as the Jewish Film Institute, retaining the name "San Francisco Jewish Film Festival" for the annual film festival.

The San Diego Jewish Film Festival (SDJFF) is an annual eleven day long film festival held in San Diego, California. Established in 1990, the festival is managed by the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture, at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center in La Jolla. The festival usually consists of around fifty narrative, documentary, and short films, often with post-film audience discussions with the filmmakers. The San Diego Jewish Film Festival "aims to educate and illuminate audiences by offering an array of films that depict elements of the Jewish life, history, and culture in challenging, moving, and humorous ways as never seen before."

The Boston Jewish Film Festival (BJFF) is an annual film festival that screens the best contemporary films on Jewish themes from around the world. The festival presents features, shorts, documentaries, and conversations with visiting artists in order to explore the Jewish identity, the current Jewish experience and the richness of Jewish culture in relation to a diverse modern world.

The Tampa Bay Jewish Film Festival is an annual event that takes place in Tampa, Florida. In 2006 the festival commenced with a gala which was held on February 8 at the St. Pete Times Forum in order to celebrate the festival's 10th anniversary.

The Washington Jewish Film Festival is a film festival that features films that represent the great diversity of Jewish experiences. It is held at the Aaron & Cecile Goldman Theater in the Washington, D.C., Jewish Community Center and other cinemas in Washington and suburban Maryland and Virginia. The festival was founded by Aviva Kempner in 1989. The 19th annual Washington Jewish Film Festival ran from December 4 to December 14, 2008. As of 2009, the executive director is Susan H. Barocas.

The Indianapolis Jewish Film Festival is a film festival founded by Robert Epstein.

The New York Jewish Film Festival (NYJFF) is an annual festival in New York City that features a wide array of international films exploring themes related to the Jewish experience. The Jewish Museum and The Film Society of Lincoln Center work in partnership to present the NYJFF every January. Since its creation in 1992, the festival has more than doubled in size and scope. Screenings are typically followed by discussions with directors, actors and film experts. Audience participation is encouraged.

The Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival (HKJFF) is an annual film festival dedicated to world cinema that focuses on Jewish life, history and culture worldwide. It was founded in 2000 by Howard Elias from Toronto, Canada, and takes place in Hong Kong .
