Jedwabne pogrom

Aftermath (Polish: Pokłosie) is a 2012 Polish film written and directed by Władysław Pasikowski. The fictional Holocaust-related thriller and drama is inspired by the July 1941 Jedwabne pogrom in occupied north-eastern Poland during Operation Barbarossa, in which 340 Polish Jews were locked in a barn in Jedwabne, which was later set on fire by a group of Polish men.

Mieczysław Kosmowski (born 1913; disappeared 1944) was a Polish Nazi collaborator, Gestapo agent and war criminal. He is responsible for Wąsocz Pogrom in Jedwabne Pogrom, Szczuczyn Pogrom and Pogrom in Łomża.

Antonina Wyrzykowska née Karwowska (born 12 August 1916 in Janczewko; died 29 November 2011 in Milanówek) was a Polish Righteous Among the Nations known for helping Jews who fled the Jedwabne pogrom. She was also decorated with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta by Poland's President Lech Kaczyński. Her husband, Aleksander Wyrzykowski, was also honoured as Righteous Among the Nations.

Gross exploring the July 1941 Jedwabne massacre committed against Polish Jews by their non-Jewish neighbors in the village of Jedwabne in Nazi-occupied Poland.

The Jedwabne pogrom was a massacre of Polish Jews in the town of Jedwabne, German-occupied Poland, on 10 July 1941, during World War II and the early stages of the Holocaust. Estimates of the number of victims vary from 300 to 1,600, including women, children, and elderly, many of whom were locked in a barn and burned alive.
