She completed her master's degree at University of Münster and currently resides in Munich, Germany Stefani has been absent from her home country Indonesia and living in Germany for more than 10 years.

It was translated into English by Pamela Allen in 2005. By writing about sex and politics, Utami addressed issues formerly forbidden to Indonesian women, a change referred to as sastra wangi.

    Fira Basuki (born June 7, 1972) is an Indonesian novelist. Arguably her most famous work is her trilogy debut consisting of Jendela-Jendela (The Windows), Pintu (The Door) and Atap (The Roof). The trilogy concerning the journeys of Javanese brother and sister Bowo and June; from graduating high school, studying abroad in the US, their meta-physical experiences (especially Bowo's "second sight" and aura-reading capabilities), relationships with people of different nationalities (especially June's Tibetan husband), and their return home to Indonesia.

She won an Indonesian major literary prize, the Khatulistiwa Literary Award, in 2012 for her third novel, Maryam. At the age of 28, she is the youngest ever to win this prestigious award. Her novels were shortlisted three years in a row by the award's judges.

    Hanna Rambe is an Indonesian writer and journalist (born 23 November 1940 in Jakarta) and was educated largely in Jakarta. In the mid-1960s, she entered the Literature Department at the University of Indonesia where she enrolled in the English language division, but she did not complete her schooling. She began working as a journalist, beginning as a copy-editor at the Indonesian Observer newspaper, and then worked as a translator and reporter for Indonesia Raya until 1974. She also worked as a contributor to the magazine Intisari (1972–1977), and then as a journalist at Mutiara magazine from (1977–1992).

    Soe Tjen Marching (born April 23, 1971 in Surabaya, Indonesia) is a writer, academic, activist, and a composer of avant-garde music from Indonesia. In 1998, she won national competition for Indonesian Contemporary Composers held by the German Embassy. Her compositions have been played in New Zealand, Indonesia and Japan. Her work has been released on the CD Asia Piano Avantgarde - Indonesia, played by pianist Steffen Schleiermacher. In 2010, her work has been selected as one of the two best compositions on the International Competition for avant-garde composers held in Singapore. In her musical career, she has been mainly an autodidact.
