The 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on March 22, 2022, and was broadcast live on Fox from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM EDT. The ceremony was returned to its traditional March schedule after the last two events were altered or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was hosted by American rapper and actor LL Cool J.

The 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards were held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on May 27, 2021, and was broadcast live on Fox. Usher hosted the ceremony.

The 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards were originally scheduled to take place on a to-be-determined date in 2020. The ceremony was to be hosted by Usher and air on Fox. The ceremony lost its venue, the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, on March 12, 2020, due to the state of California restricting gatherings to 250 people in response to the national coronavirus pandemic, which has cancelled scores of television events through March into July, along with postponing the ACM Awards and Billboard Music Awards. On the morning of March 16, iHeartMedia announced the ceremony's official postponement. Online listener voting on all categories continued as previously scheduled until March 23, with the Best Fan Army category remaining open for voting until March 27.

The 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards was held at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on March 14, 2019, and was broadcast live on Fox. Ariana Grande and Ella Mai are the most awarded artist with 3 each of the night. Cardi B lead the list of nominees with 14 nominations. T-Pain, who won The Masked Singer, hosted the show.
