Ádám Nádasdy (born 15 February 1947) is a Hungarian linguist and poet. He is professor emeritus at the Department of English Linguistics of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. He specializes in post-generative phonological theory, morphophonology, English and Germanic historical linguistics, varieties and dialects of English, as well as English medieval studies and Yiddish philology.

György Faludy (September 22, 1910, Budapest – September 1, 2006, Budapest), sometimes anglicized as George Faludy, was a Hungarian-born poet, writer and translator.

Desmond Child (born John Charles Barrett; October 28, 1953) is an American songwriter and producer. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2008. He is the son of Joseph Marfy and of songwriter Elena Casals.

Erzsébet Galgóczi (27 August 1930 – 20 May 1989) was a Hungarian writer, playwright, and screenwriter. Her work is often described as realist fiction.

Karl-Maria Kertbeny or Károly Mária Kertbeny (born Karl-Maria Benkert) (Vienna, February 28, 1824 – Budapest, January 23, 1882) was an Austrian-born Hungarian journalist, memoirist, and human rights campaigner. He is best known for coining the words heterosexual and homosexual.

Bogi Takács (born 25 December 1983) is a Hungarian poet, writer, psycholinguist, editor, and translator. Takács is an intersex, agender trans Jewish writer who has written Torah-inspired Jewish-themed work, and uses e/em/eir/emself or they/them pronouns. E currently resides in the United States.

Balázs Birtalan (October 12, 1969 – May 14, 2016) was a Hungarian author, poet, publicist, and psychotherapist, mostly known for his participation in the gay Christian movement in Hungary. He was the son of the poet Ferenc Birtalan.

Sándor Vay (6 December 1859 – 23 May 1918) was a Hungarian poet and journalist. As a female, Sarolta Vay was one of the first Hungarian women to complete university studies. Vay worked as a male journalist both before and after the sensational trial for his marriage to another woman in 1889. The case drew the attention of noted sexologists of the period, including Havelock Ellis and Richard von Krafft-Ebing, who used it to explore female inversion in the emerging field of sexology. During his lifetime, he was well respected as an author of historical articles on notable figures and cultural topics related to Hungary. Many of his works have been posthumously republished and are considered an important part of his country's literary heritage.
