    Prof Lau Siu Kai (Chinese: 劉兆佳) (born 1947), GBS, is a sociologist from Hong Kong. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong, and taught at the Department of Sociology of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he is emeritus professor of sociology, after getting a PhD degree from the University of Minnesota. During his tenure at CUHK he was also associate director of the university's Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies.

    Ivan Lam Long-yin (Chinese: 林朗彥, born 18 July 1994) is a student who together with Joshua Wong established the Hong Kong student activist group, Scholarism, in May 2011. In 2018, he replaced Nathan Law as the chairperson of Demosisto. In December 2020, Lam was sentenced to seven months in prison for his role during the 2019 protests. Along with him, activists Joshua Wong and Agnes Chow were also convicted. On 12 April 2021, he was released from prison.

    Sir Harry Fang Sin-yang, GBM, CBE, JP (Chinese: 方心讓, 2 August 1923 – 24 August 2009) was a Hong Kong orthopaedic surgeon, legislator and campaigner who promoted rehabilitation services. He was widely known as the "father of rehabilitation" in Asia. A well-known humanitarian, Harry Fang championed the rights of the disabled and disadvantaged. He co-founded the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, and headed the Rehabilitation International for a period of time. In 2009, he died from complications of a stroke.

    The 2010 March for universal suffrage (Chinese: 5.2大遊行) was a march held in Hong Kong on May 2, 2010. The event occurred on the second day of the Shanghai 2010 expo. It came a day after the neighboring 2010 Macau labour protest.

    The Hong Kong Parliament Electoral Organizing Committee (Chinese: 香港議會選舉籌備委員會), or HKPEOC, is an organisation formed by pro-democracy Hongkongers in exile. Two of its leading figures, Canadian journalist Victor LM Ho and businessman Elmer Yuen declared its formation on 27 July 2022 in Toronto, Canada. The Hong Kong Parliament Election Commission's current goal is to hold its first election in May 2025 for Hong Kong people and overseas Hongkongers as well, to express their opinions fairly and democratically.

The bureau also functions as the intermediary between the HKSAR Government and the Central People's Government and other Mainland authorities under the principles of "One Country, Two Systems", including the coordination of liaison between the HKSAR Government and Central authorities, promoting regional co-operation initiatives between Hong Kong and the Mainland, and overseeing the operation of offices of the HKSAR Government on the Mainland.

    The Shatin Community Network (Chinese: 沙田社區網絡) is a localist political group in Hong Kong. It was formed by a group of Sha Tin residents and former member of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Local Society was inspired by 2014 Occupy protests. It uses "pragmatism, locality and democracy" and aimed to win back the District Councils from the pro-Beijing camp. It won a seat in the 2015 Hong Kong district council elections.
