Union Mills Homestead Historic District is a national historic district at Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland, United States.

Hitt's Mill and Houses, also known as Pry's Mill, Valley Mills, Hitt (or Cost) House, is a historic home and mill complex located at Keedysville, Washington County, Maryland, United States. It is a five-story stone and brick structure built as a grist mill. The ground story and the first full story above ground level are constructed of coursed limestone; the upper stories are built of brick. Also on the property is a square log outbuilding with a hipped roof, a large frame bank barn, and part of a fieldstone barnyard fence. The mill and the Hitt house served as hospitals during and after the nearby Civil War Battle of Antietam.

The Potomac Mills was a mill complex located along the Potomac River roughly .5 miles (0.80 km) downriver of Shepherdstown. Built in 1826, the complex was originally used as a gristmill. In 1829, the mill began producing cement for the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal's construction. The factory continued to produce cement after the canal opened, and it shipped its product along the canal to other cities. Flooding and drought conditions in the 1880s led the mill to reduce its operations, and by 1901 the mill closed permanently.

Jerusalem Mill Village is a living history museum that spans the 18th through early 20th centuries. One of the oldest and most intact mill villages in the U.S. state of Maryland, Jerusalem is located in Harford County, along the Little Gunpowder Falls River. It also serves as the headquarters of the Gunpowder Falls State Park. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 20, 1987. Also on the National Register of Historic Places and located nearby are Jericho Farm and the Jericho Covered Bridge.

The Wye Mill is the oldest continuously operated grist mill in the United States, located at Wye Mills, Queen Anne's County and Talbot County, Maryland, United States. It is the earliest industrial site on the Eastern Shore in continuous use; dating to the late 17th century. It is a wood-frame, water-powered grist mill, with a 19th-century 26 HP 10-foot-diameter (3.0 m) Fitz steel overshot wheel. The mill retains nearly all of its late-18th-century equipment. The Wye Mill was one of the first grist mills to be automated with the Oliver Evans process, which is still in use today.

The Radcliffe Mill is a historic grist mill and related structures located in Chestertown, Kent County, Maryland, United States. It consists of a Mill Building, built in 1891; Grain Elevator, probably constructed around 1924; and Annex / Seed House. The complex is historically significant for its association with the development of agriculture and the associated grist milling industry in Kent County. The present complex occupies land along Radcliffe Creek that has been associated with milling for about 300 years. A mill operated in this approximate location from 1694 until 1997.

Ivory Mills is a 14-acre (5.7 ha), historic grist mill complex located at White Hall, Harford County, Maryland, United States. It consists of six standing 19th century frame buildings and structures: mill, miller's house, barn, corn crib, carriage house, and chicken house. The property also includes the ruins of a stone spring house, and the stone abutments of a frame, Federal-era covered bridge. The focus of the complex is the three-story stone and frame mill building built circa 1818. The ground story is constructed of coursed stone rubble, and the upper stories from clapboard. The family first started a mill on this site in 1781; this particular mill ceased production in the 1920s.

Nicodemus Mill Complex is a historic home and mill complex located at Keedysville, Washington County, Maryland, United States. It consists of a dated 1810 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay stone house with a mid-19th-century brick service wing, the ruins of a grist mill built about 1829, and an extensive complement of 19th-century domestic and agricultural outbuildings including a stone springhouse, stone-end bank barn, brick out kitchen, frame wash house, and a stuccoed stone secondary dwelling. It is an intact representative example of the type of farmstead characteristic of the region during the 19th century.

Lewis Mill Complex is a historic grist mill complex located at Jefferson, Frederick County, Maryland. The complex consists of seven standing structures, a house foundation, and the remains of an earlier millrace. It centers on an early 19th-century three-story brick mill structure with a gabled roof. The mill complex served German immigrant farmers in Middletown Valley between 1810 and the 1920s. It was rehabilitated in 1979-1980 for use as a pottery shop. Also in the complex are a stuccoed log house and log springhouse built about; a frame wagon shed and corn crib structure and frame barn dating from the late 19th century; and early 20th century cattle shelter and a frame garage.

K. B. Fletcher Mill is a historic grist mill located at East New Market, Dorchester County, Maryland. It was constructed in the 1850s, originally as a two-story, gable-roofed structure. Around 1900 a third floor was added to the main structure and a gable-roofed addition was built. The mill retains a wide variety of milling equipment dating from the 1850s to the early 20th century.
