Governors of Salta Province

Juan Manuel Urtubey (born September 6, 1969) is an Argentine politician, lawyer, university professor and former governor of Salta Province. Formerly a senior figure in the ruling Front for Victory faction of the Justicialist Party (PJ) in the Argentine Chamber of Deputies and chairman of both the Constitutional Affairs Committee and the Peronist Caucus, Urtubey became governor in the 2007 elections, being only 38 years old. He was reelected in 2011 with almost 60% of the vote, and in 2015 with 51% of the vote.

Robustiano Patrón Costas (August 5, 1878 – September 24, 1965) was a conservative Argentine politician and businessman who served as interim president of the nation and governor of his native province. He led the National Democratic Party.

Juan Carlos Romero (born 16 November 1950) is an Argentine Justicialist Party politician and senator, and was governor of Salta Province for 12 years.

Roberto Augusto Ulloa (March 1, 1924 – December 8, 2020) was an Argentine politician and captain in the Argentine Navy. He was a Governor of Salta Province for two tenures: 1977 to 1983 (de facto) and 1991 to 1995. He was the founder and leader of the Salta Renewal Party, a regional conservative party based in Salta Province.

Gustavo Adolfo Ruberto Sáenz Stiro (born 14 April 1969) is an Argentine politician who is currently governor of Salta Province, since 10 December 2019. Previously, from 2015 to 2019, he was intendente (mayor) of the City of Salta, and served from 2009 to 2013 as a member of the Provincial Senate representing the Capital Department.

Hernán Hipólito Cornejo (22 July 1945 – 15 February 2024) was an Argentine diplomat and politician. A member of the Justicialist Party, he served as Governor of Salta Province from 1987 to 1991 and was a member of the Mercosur Parliament from 2015 to 2023.

The Governor of Salta is a citizen of the Salta Province, in Argentina, holding the office of governor for the corresponding period. The governor is elected alongside a vice-governor. Currently the governor of Salta is Juan Manuel Urtubey.
