Film festivals

The Cannes Film Festival (French: Festival de Cannes), until 2003 called the International Film Festival (Festival international du film) and known in English as the Cannes Film Festival, is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from all around the world. Founded in 1946, the invitation-only festival is held annually (usually in May) at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. The festival was formally accredited by the FIAPF in 1951.

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is a publicly attended film festival held each September in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 2012, 372 films from 72 countries were screened at 34 screens in downtown Toronto venues, welcoming an estimated 400,000 attendees, over 4000 of whom were industry professionals. TIFF traditionally kicks off the Thursday night after Labour Day (the first Monday in September in Canada), lasting for eleven days.

The Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival (Turkish: ) , held annually since 1963 in Antalya, is the most important national film festival in Turkey. The event, jointly organized by the Foundation of Culture and Arts in Antalya (Antalya Kültür Sanat Vakfi, AKSAV) takes place in the autumn months at the Antalya Cultural Center (Antalya Kültür Merkezi, AKM). Since 2005, the festival is accompanied by the International Eurasia Film Festival.

The Festival International du Film Amateur de Kélibia (FIFAK, International Amateur Film Festival of Kélibia) is an annual international film festival for amateur filmmakers at Kélibia, Tunisia. It was founded in 1964 as the oldest film event in Tunisia and is organised by the Fédération Tunisienne des Cinéastes Amateurs (FTCA, formerly Association des Jeunes Cinéastes Tunisiens, AJCT). The Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the town of Kélibia lend their support. A number of later well-known filmmakers debuted at FIFAK, such as Salma Baccar (Tunisia), Ridha Behi (Ridha El Bahi, Tunisia), Ahmed Ben Kamla (Benkamla, Algeria), Ferid Boughedir (Tunisia), Sheila Graber (Great-Britain), Nanni Moretti (Italy), and Diego Rísquez [fr] (Venezuela).

The 36th Tokyo International Film Festival is an ongoing film festival that is taking place from October 23 to November 1, 2023. German filmmaker Wim Wenders will serve as jury president.

The Golden Jury Film Festival is a film festival in India, that is held annually in Mumbai.

The 24th Kolkata International Film Festival took place from 10 Nov 2018 – 17 Nov 2018. Celebrating 100 Years of Bengali cinema, Around 171 films and 150 short and documentary films from 70 countries was screened at the festival.

The 25th Kolkata International Film Festival took place from 8 to 15 November 2019.

The Lucca Film Festival, or LFF, (also known as Lucca Film Festival e Europa Cinema), is an annual event that has been held in Lucca since 2005, celebrating and spreading film culture by addressing the apparent contrasts between arthouse, experimental and mainstream cinema in the broader category of the work of art. The Festival offers screenings, exhibitions, conferences, and performances, ranging from mainstream to art-house cinema.

The Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) is held annually in Jaipur, India, since 2009. The festival is conducted by the Jaipur International Film Festival Trust.
