Sharran Alexander was born in Maida Vale, London. Sharran is a sumo wrestler who is listed in British Sumo Federation as 2nd Kyu grade. She was named as the heaviest sportswoman in the 2013 Guinness World Records at 203.2 kg (448 lb).

Epp Mäe (born 2 April 1992) is an Estonian freestyle wrestler. She has won a bronze medal in 2015 and 2019 World Wrestling Championships.

Hetal Dave is India's first and only professional female sumo wrestler. In 2008, the woman from Mumbai made it into the Limca Book of Records.

Julia Dorny (born 20 February 1990), is a German athlete, media scientist, journalist and television presenter who has won various World and European Championships in three martial arts disciplines. She is the only female athlete in the world who has won championships in judo, mixed martial arts and sumo wrestling. She was the first German woman to become MMA European Champion and MMA World Champion in featherweight within the IMMAF amateurs.

Seika Izawa (Japanese: 伊澤星花, Seika Izawa, born November 1, 1997) is a Japanese mixed martial artist, currently competing in the atomweight and strawweight divisions of DEEP and Jewels. She is the current Jewels Strawweight and Rizin Super Atomweight champion.

Anna Poliakova (maiden name Anna Zhigalova) is a Russian amateur sumo wrestler. She has won gold medals in the both the heavyweight and openweight categories in the 2009, 2013 and 2017 World Games. She has also won seven golds at the Sumo World Championships. In 2018 she was nominated for the World Games Athlete of the Year award.

Yonamine Chiru was an Okinawan martial artist in the 1800s and the wife of Matsumura Sōkon. Nicknamed Tsuru-San (“crane”) or Yonamine no Bushi Tsuru (“Yonamine the crane warrior”), she was well-regraded as an Okinawan sumo wrestler and considered a “tomboy” for her love of fighting. She may have had a hand in developing the Matsumura Orthodox version of the kata Seisan, which is said by the Takae-Ryu Karate-Do Association to allow women to fight with a baby on their backs.

Hiyori Kon (Japanese: 今 日和) is a Japanese amateur sumo wrestler, who is known for advocating for equal rights for women to compete professionally in Japan. She has been included in the BBC's list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world for 2019.

Edyta Witkowska-Popecka (born 24 July 1979 in Przysucha) is a retired Polish wrestler and sumo wrestler.

Svitlana Mykolayivna Iaromka (Ukrainian: Світлана Миколаївна Ярьомка, born 9 April 1989) is a Ukrainian female judoka. She is the 2016 European silver medalist in the +78 kg division. Iaromka repeated her success next year.
