    Abdul Qadeer Khan ( ; Urdu: عبد القدیر خان‎; born 1 April 1936-10 October 2021) NI, HI, FPAS, DEng, known as A. Q. Khan, was a Pakistani nuclear physicist, metallurgical engineer, nuclear black marketeer and an Islamic terrorist who is colloquially known as the "father of Pakistan's atomic weapons program". Though, Khan is celebrated in Pakistan for bringing balance to the South Asian region after India's nuclear tests; he is also noted for both for his scientific ability and for his difficult interpersonal relations.

    Pervez Amirali Hoodbhoy (Urdu: پرویز امِیرعلی ہودبھائی; born 11 July 1950) is a Pakistani nuclear physicist and activist who serves as Zohra and ZZ Ahmed Foundation distinguished professor at the Forman Christian College and previously taught physics at the Quaid-e-Azam University. Hoodbhoy is also a prominent activist in particular concerned with promotion of freedom of speech, secularism, scientific temper and education in Pakistan.

    Major-General Syed Ali Nawab (Urdu: سید علی نواب;b. 6 October 1925–22 February 1994) (HI (m), SBt, TPk), was an engineering officer in the Pakistan Army Corps of EME, and an electrical and mechanical engineer who was known for his classified works in the development of atomic bomb at the Engineering Research Laboratories (ERL) in the 1970s. In recognition of these contributions, he was awarded in its original format, the highly prestigious Hilal e Imtiaz (Military) medal in 1979 - this was a solid gold medal that in its original form also conferred upon its recipient, allotments of residential as well as valuable irrigated agricultural lands reserved for recipients of gallantry awards and heroes of Pakistan. Nawab was the first two star General to be awarded the Hilal e Imtiaz Military. Nawab was also among a handful of Generals of the Pakistan Army and the only two star General to have ever been awarded this format of the medal.

    Rashid Bashir is Dean of The Grainger College of Engineering, Grainger Distinguished Chair in Engineering and Professor of Bioengineering, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was the Executive Associate Dean and Chief Diversity Officer at the Carle-Illinois College of Medicine (07/2017 – 12/2018) at UIUC. Previously, he was the Abel Bliss Professor of Engineering, Head of Department of Bioengineering (07/2013 – 06/2017), Director of the Micro and Nanotechnology Laboratory (a campus-wide clean room research facility) (10/2007 – 06/2013), and Co-Director of the campus-wide Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (10/2010 – 06/2013), a "collaboratory" aimed at facilitating center grants and large initiatives around campus in the area of nanotechnology. Prior to joining UIUC, he was at Purdue University from 1998–2007 with faculty appointments in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Bioengineering. From 1992 to 1998 he worked at National Semiconductor Corporation in Santa Clara, CA as Sr. Engineering Manager. He graduated with a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1992. He has authored or co-authored over 240 journal papers, over 200 conference papers and conference abstracts, and over 120 invited talks, and has been granted 50 patents. He is an NSF Faculty Early Career Award winner and the 2012 IEEE EMBS Technical Achievement Award. He received the Pritzker Lecture Award from BMES in 2018. He is a fellow of IEEE, AIMBE, AAAS, BMES, RSC, APS, and NAI.
