Diners

A diner is a type of restaurant found across the United States and Canada, as well as parts of Western Europe and Australia. Diners offer a wide range of cuisine, mostly American cuisine, a casual atmosphere, and, characteristically, a combination of booths served by a waitstaff and a long sit-down counter with direct service, in the smallest simply by a cook. Many diners have extended hours, and some along highways and areas with significant shift work stay open for 24 hours.

The Saturn Cafe is a vegetarian diner in Oakland, California, with former locations in Berkeley, Los Angeles, and Santa Cruz. Its original Santa Cruz location was established in 1979 and closed in 2021; the Los Angeles restaurant opened in 2020. The Santa Cruz location has been variously owned by Don Lane, a husband and wife team, and former employees of the diner. The Berkeley location of Saturn Cafe was open from 2009 to 2018.

The Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theatre & Diner is a historic drive-in theater with a concession stand in Honor, Michigan, on US Highway 31 (US 31). It opened on July 4, 1953, and was one of seven remaining drive-in theaters in Michigan in 2003. It has a snack bar, children's play areas, putt-putt golf, beach volleyball, and a rest area for dogs. The Cherry Bowl is the only remaining drive-in theater in Northern Michigan. The Cherry Bowl's sound system uses the original vacuum tube motiograph amplifiers powering speakers at speaker posts. An FM radio option is also offered. The drive-in theatre is open in the summertime. The Cherry Bowl has converted to digital HD projection.

US 30 Diner, known until June 2018 as Lee's Diner and in 2018/2019 as Vicky's Diner, is a stainless steel diner on U.S. Route 30 in West York, York County in Pennsylvania. Originally opened in 1951, it went out of business in late 2019.

Karen's Diner is an Australian-American chain of theme restaurants. The restaurant is known for advertising a deliberately unpleasant dining experience, and staff are instructed to insult customers throughout their meal. The restaurant's name came from the internet slang term Karen, used to describe an older white woman perceived as entitled or excessively demanding.

Rocko's Diner is a diner located in Mission, British Columbia, best known for its forty flavours of milkshakes and its use as a filming location for several televisions shows. The diner was the first drive-in and first 24-hour restaurant in Mission. In 2017, USA Today named the diner one of Canada's top ten filming locations.

Silver Diner is an American restaurant chain with locations in the Mid-Atlantic United States (Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Washington D.C.). Its corporate headquarters are in Rockville, Maryland, at its debut location.

Summit Diner is a diner built in the late thirties located in Summit, New Jersey. The business opened in 1929. The original building was replaced with the current building constructed by the Jerry O'Mahony Diner Company in 1938. Food writer, Peter Genovese, considered Summit Diner a quintessential diner.

The Red Arrow Diner is a 24-hour diner located in the state of New Hampshire in the United States. The diner currently has four locations, in Manchester, Concord, Londonderry, Nashua, and previously had a location in Milford. Media outlets have repeatedly rated the diner one of the best in the United States, and the diner became known as a recurrent stop for politicians on the New Hampshire primary campaign trail—one of the first in the nation—during presidential primary season.

Andy's Diner (also known as Andy's Railroad) was a roadside diner, constructed from several decommissioned railcars, in Seattle, Washington, established in 1949 and closed in 2008. It was constructed on the former location of a more traditional diner that had been built in 1930.
