Bismack Biyombo Sumba (born August 28, 1992) is a Congolese professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings and subsequently traded to the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets).

Eddie Kadi (born 18 May 1983 in Kinshasa) is a British-Congolese comedian, presenter, actor, Philanthropist and MC. An all-round multi talented performer, Eddie Kadi continues to reform the world of comedy and communications; repeatedly leaving “sold out” concert audiences mesmerised by a heady mixture of laughter and reflection. Sindika Dokolo (born 16 March 1972 – October 29, 2020) was a Congolese art collector and businessman. He owned one of the most important contemporary African art collections, which includes more than 3,000 pieces. On the 29th of October, Sindiko was reported as dead by multiple news sources. The death occurred in a sea accident, in the city of Dubai. He died at the age of 48.

Denis Mukwege (born 1 March 1955) is a Congolese gynecologist and Pentecostal pastor. He founded and works in Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, where he specializes in the treatment of women who have been raped by armed rebels.

Ngongo Lutete' (or Ngongo Lutete) was a Congolese leader and chieftain during the late 19th century.

Ambroise Boimbo was a Congolese patriot who stole the sword of King Baudouin I of Belgium on June 29, 1960 in Léopoldville (now Kinshasa) on the eve of the independence of Belgian Congo. He died in the 1980s and is interred at the Kintambo cemetery. He was ex-military and originated from Monkoto in the Équateur Province. For many people it was a symbol for the real independence of Congo.

Jonathan Scott Gration (born 1951) is an American retired Major General of the United States Air Force, who worked as a policy advisor to President Barack Obama. On March 18, 2009, Gration was named, and served, as the United States Special Envoy to Sudan. He subsequently worked as United States Ambassador to Kenya from 2011-2012.

James Paul Chapin (July 9, 1889 – April 5, 1964) was an American ornithologist.

Pieter Hintjens (3 December 1962 – 4 October 2016) was a Belgian software developer, author, and past president of the Foundation for a Free Information Infrastructure (FFII), an association that fights against software patents. In 2007, he was nominated one of the "50 most influential people in IP" by Managing Intellectual Property magazine.

Bavua Ntinu André (born March 22, 1939, and Death on October 5, 2013) was a martial art practitioner and initiator of Japanese sports (Karate and Judo) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo known as the Great Master Bavua Ntinu Decantor, founder of the National School of Martial Arts (EMAM) and, Supreme Chief of Spiritual Power of the Verb (PSV), which he was also founder and first spiritual leader of the organization.
