Defunct ice hockey teams in California

The Fresno Falcons are a defunct minor league hockey team. They were charter members of several long standing leagues in the western United States including the Pacific Southwest Hockey League and the West Coast Hockey League. In their final years, they were members of the ECHL (formerly East Coast Hockey League). They were located in Fresno, California.

The Stockton Heat is a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL) which began play in the 2015–16 season. The team is based in Stockton, California, and is affiliated with the National Hockey League (NHL) Calgary Flames. The Heat plays its home games at Stockton Arena. It is a relocation of the Adirondack Flames joining several other AHL franchises to form a new AHL Pacific Division in California.

The Stockton Thunder were a minor league professional ice hockey team that was based in Stockton, California and a member of the ECHL. The Stockton Arena was their home ice, with a capacity of 9,737. The team was an affiliate team of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League in their final two seasons. The team was purchased by the Calgary Flames and relocated to Glens Falls, New York as the Flames relocated their American Hockey League team to Stockton to become the Stockton Heat.

The San Francisco Bulls were a professional minor ice hockey team of the ECHL located in Daly City, California, serving the San Francisco Bay Area market. They were an affiliate to the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League and the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League.

The San Diego Mariners were an ice hockey team based in San Diego that played in the World Hockey Association. They played from 1974 to 1977. Their home ice was San Diego Sports Arena. Previous to being in San Diego, the team was known as the New York Raiders, New York Golden Blades, and Jersey Knights.

The Oakland Oaks were a Oakland, California-based minor professional ice hockey team that played in the Pacific Coast Hockey League from the 1944–45 season into the 1949–50 season. The team did not complete its final season, folding in December 1949. The team played its home games at Winterland Arena in San Francisco, a venue it shared with the San Francisco Shamrocks.

The Bakersfield Jr. Condors were an USA Hockey-sanctioned Junior A Tier III ice hockey team based out of Bakersfield, California. Their host facility was the Ice Sports Arena Arena. The Jr. Condors were members of the Western States Hockey League and played in the Western Division of the WSHL. The team joined the WSHL as an expansion team (with a franchise purchased from the Capital Thunder) for the 2009–10 season along with the Fresno Monsters, Arizona RedHawks, and Idaho Jr. Steelheads. The team would be moved to Ogden, Utah as the Mustangs in 2011.

The Valencia Flyers are an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)-sanctioned junior ice hockey team based in Valencia, California. The team plays in the Western Division of the Western States Hockey League at the Ice Station Valencia.

The Hollywood Wolves were a Los Angeles-based minor-league hockey team that played in the Southern California Hockey League (1941–1944) and the Pacific Coast Hockey League (1944–1950). The team defeated the Boston Olympics in 1944 for the championship of the Amateur Hockey Association of the United States, the first team to hold an American national championship in hockey.

The San Diego Gulls (1990–95) was a professional ice hockey team. The team, the second to use the Gulls nickname, was founded in 1990 as part of the International Hockey League. The Gulls played at the San Diego Sports Arena.
