Conflicts in 1908

The Persian Constitutional Revolution (Persian: مشروطیت, Mashrūtiyyat, or انقلاب مشروطه Enghelāb-e Mashrūteh), also known as the Constitutional Revolution of Iran, took place between 1905 and 1911 during the Qajar dynasty. The revolution led to the establishment of a parliament in Iran (Persia), and has been called an "epoch-making episode in the modern history of Persia".

The Young Turk Revolution (July 1908; Turkish: Jön Türk Devrimi) was a constitutionalist revolution in the Ottoman Empire. Revolutionaries belonging to the Internal Committee of Union and Progress, an organization of the Young Turks movement, forced Sultan Abdul Hamid II to restore the Constitution, recall the parliament, and schedule an election. Thus began the Second Constitutional Era which lasted from 1908 until 1920.

The Macedonian Struggle was a series of social, political, cultural and military conflicts that were mainly fought between Greek and Bulgarian subjects who lived in Ottoman Macedonia between 1893 and 1912. The conflict was part of a wider guerrilla war in which revolutionary organizations of Greeks, Bulgarians and Serbs all fought over Macedonia. Gradually the Greek and Bulgarian bands gained the upper hand. Though the conflict largely ceased by the Young Turk Revolution, it continued as a low intensity insurgency until the Balkan Wars.

The Mohmand Expedition of 1908 was a British punitive expedition against Mohmand rebels in the British Raj.

The Wad Habuba Revolt (Arabic: ثورة ود حبوبة) was an uprising in Anglo-Egyptian Sudan in mid-1908. Its causes laid in religious opposition to Christian British rule in Sudan, and a desire to restore the Mahdist State. It was led Mahdist War veteran, Abd al-Qadir Muhammad Imam Wad Habuba. It began in April, when al-Qadir took over the town of Tugur with 40 followers. From there, the rebellion spread to Katfia. Colonial authorities took the revolt very seriously and dispatched 2 infantry companies to quell the uprising. By the end of April, Katfia had been bloodlessly recaptured. On the night of 2 May, the rebels attempted to retake Katfia from the British, but were unsuccessful, with 35 of them killed in the battle, while the British forces, led by Ernest Arthur Dickinson (b. 1864, Governor of Blue Nile province 1905–1914) suffered 17 killed and wounded. By 3 May, the revolt had ended and al-Qadir had left for Omdurman on a donkey.

The Provisional Government of Cuba (Spanish: Gobierno Provisional de Cuba) lasted from September 1906 to February 1909. This period was also referred to as the Second occupation of Cuba.

The McIntosh County Seat War was a dispute in Oklahoma over the location of the McIntosh County seat that took place between 1907 and 1909. Following a pair of elections that resulted in the town of Checotah being designated as the new county seat, the people of Eufaula refused to hand over the county records. As a result, a group of heavily armed men from Checotah attempted to seize the records, but were forced to surrender during the gunbattle that ensued. One year later, after another close election, Eufaula became the permanent county seat.

The French conquest of Morocco began with the French Republic occupying the city of Oujda on 29 March 1907. The French launched campaigns against the Sultanate of Morocco which culminated in the signing of the Treaty of Fes and establishment of the French Protectorate in Morocco on 30 March 1912. France later concluded, on the 27th November, the Treaty of Madrid with the Kingdom of Spain which established the Spanish protectorate in Morocco. The French still conducted a series of military operations to pacify rebellions in Morocco until 1934.

The Dutch conquest of Klungkung, Bali in 1908 marked the final phase of Dutch colonial control over the island of Bali in Indonesia. It was the seventh and last military action in Bali, following the so-called Dutch intervention in Bali (1906).

The Bazar Valley campaign of 1908 was a punitive expedition against the Zakka Khel clan of the Afridi, a Pakhtun tribe inhabiting the mountains on the Peshawar border of the North West Frontier province of British India.
