Leonardo Julio Farkas Klein (born March 20, 1967) is a Chilean businessman and philanthropist.

Iris Balbina Fontbona González (born 1942/1943) is a Chilean Miner, Media proprietor, billionaire businesswoman, the widow of Andrónico Luksic Abaroa, from inheriting Antofagasta PLC. She is the wealthiest person in Chile, the fifth wealthiest in Latin America, the 8th wealthiest woman worldwide and the 91st wealthiest person in the world.

Matías Cousiño Jorquera (1810–1863) was a Chilean coal magnate and patriarch of the wealthy Cousiño family. Cousiño's most emblematic coal mine was found in Lota a small coastal town on the coast of the Bío-Bío Region, where steam ships that crossed the Strait of Magellan could be resupplied with coal.

Moritz (Mauricio) Hochschild (February 17, 1881 – June 12, 1965) was a leading mining industry businessman in the first half of the twentieth century. Along with Simón Iturri Patiño and Carlos Víctor Aramayo, one of the three so-called Bolivian tin barons. Additionally, he saved thousands of Jews during the Holocaust by facilitating their legal admission to Bolivia.

Julio Ponce Lerou is a Chilean billionaire who is the principal shareholder of Soquimich. He is a former son-in-law of Augusto Pinochet. Until 1982 he was president of Chilean state-owned forestry company Complejo Forestal y Maderero Panguipulli while he was simultaneously president of CELCO, a wood pulp company.

Miguel Gallo Vergara (La Serena, 1793 - Chañarcillo, March 8, 1853) was a Chilean millionaire mining entrepreneur, politician and patriot. He was mayor of Copiapó for the year 1820, and was appointed a Deputy of the Republic of Chile representing Copiapó, Chañaral and Freirina from 1849 to 1852. A pioneer of the silver mining industry in Chile, working with Juan Godoy from 1832, he is still remembered as an illustrious figure in the Atacama mining industry and in the history of Copiapó.

Charles Saint Lambert (identified in Spanish-language sources as Carlos Santiago Lambert: 31 December 1793 - 4 August 1876) was a Franco-Chilean mining engineer and businessman. He explored the mineral deposits in northern Chile and introduced the reverberatory furnace which transformed the Chilean copper mining industry by making it practical to exploit previously discarded aggregations of relatively low-grade copper slag. Copper production increased six-fold in just thirty years.

Isidora Goyenechea Gallo (1836-1897) was a Chilean industrialist. She owned and managed the coal mines in Lota and Coronel in 1873-1897 and was at the time regarded as one of the wealthiest people in the world. Her house was in the current one Palacio Cousiño in Santiago de Chile.
