Candidates for President of Lebanon

Dany Chamoun (Arabic: داني شمعون‎; 26 August 1934 – 21 October 1990) was a prominent Lebanese politician. A Maronite Christian, the younger son of former President Camille Chamoun and brother of Dory Chamoun, Chamoun was also a politician in his own right, and was known for his devout defense of Lebanon.

Tracy Chamoun (Arabic:ترايسي شمعون) (born on 22 October 1960) is a Lebanese author, diplomat and political activist of Lebanese and European descent. She was appointed as ambassador of Lebanon to Jordan on 19 June 2017. She is one of two surviving children of Dany Chamoun, the assassinated former leader of the National Liberal Party and son of former President Camille Chamoun; her mother is the late Patti Morgan Chamoun, an Australian fashion model and actress. She was the Lebanese ambassador to Jordan from August 2017 until 7 August 2020 when she resigned after the 2020 Beirut explosions, saying the catastrophe showed the need for a change in leadership.

Suleiman Bey Frangieh (Arabic: سليمان بك فرنجية‎; born 18 October 1965) is the current leader of the Marada Movement and a former Member of Parliament for the Maronite seat of Zgharta-Zawyie, in North Lebanon.

Hamid Beik Frangieh (6 August 1907 – 5 September 1981) was a Lebanese member of the Parliament of Lebanon and held numerous ministerial positions in the Lebanese government. He was one of the Maronite leaders of Lebanon.

Amine Pierre Gemayel (Arabic: أمين بيار الجميٌل‎; born 22 January 1942) is a Lebanese politician who was President of Lebanon from 1982 to 1988 and was the leader of the Kataeb Party. Gemayel was elected to the presidency by the National Assembly on 21 September 1982, in place of his brother Bachir Gemayel who had been elected the previous month but had been assassinated before taking office.

Samir Farid Geagea (Arabic: سمير فريد جعجع‎ also spelled Samir Ja'ja'; born on 25 October 1952 in Ain al-Remaneh), from the town of Bsharri in northern Lebanon, is a Lebanese leader and politician. He is the executive chairman of the Lebanese Forces, a Christian political party in Lebanon.

Nassib Lahoud (23 November 1944 – 1 February 2012) was a Lebanese-Christian political figure. He held various posts including Member of parliament, Ambassador to the United States of America, and Minister of State (without portfolio) . He was also head of the Democratic Renewal Movement and a leading figure in the March 14 coalition, which nominated him as their presidential candidate when they held the parliamentary majority in 2008. His election was vetoed by Hezbollah and its allies, who refused to attend parliament and threatened not to recognise any president who was not the product of a consensus agreement between Lebanese political forces. President Michel Suleiman was elected to the post on 25 May 2008.

Nadine Moussa is a Lebanese lawyer and political activist who ran for the 2014 Lebanese general election. She also ran as an independent candidate for the 2014 Lebanese presidential election. She was the first woman to run for presidency in Lebanon. The presidential election was postponed to 2016. The general election was postponed to 2017 and again until 2018. She did not win either contest.

Henri Helou (Arabic: هنري الحلو‎; born 3 July 1953 in Beirut, Lebanon), is a Lebanese politician and a member of the Lebanese Parliament and a member of the Democratic Meeting (اللقاء الديموقراطي).

Robert Iskandar Ghanem (8 May 1942 – 10 February 2019) was a Lebanese lawyer and politician.
