    Dr Michael von Clemm (1935–1997) was an American businessman, restaurateur, anthropologist and President of Templeton College, Oxford. Although in one interpretation of his life, he was merely a high-flying banker, he could also have been said to have helped start the restaurant revolution in the UK of the 1980s, and to have been the original father of the Canary Wharf development. He helped found the London Eurodollar market, saving London's position as a global financial centre. He also made a huge impact in his work for charity and the English Speaking Union. All this despite his training being as a Professor of Anthropology.

There are two roundabouts, one above the other. It was designed by Laurie Olin. In this context, a circus, from the Latin word meaning "circle", is a round open space at a street junction.

South Quay is in Millwall and is located on the southern shore of the South Dock of the West India Docks; the current station platforms sit astride the channel connecting Millwall Dock to the West India Docks.

    Canary Wharf is a future railway station in Canary Wharf in London, England. The station forms an artificial island in the West India Docks (North Dock). The five upper levels of the station are a mixed-use development known as Crossrail Place. It will be on the Abbey Wood branch of the Crossrail route between Whitechapel and Custom House. Construction began in May 2009, and it was expected to start receiving passenger rail services in 2018, but is now planned to open in autumn 2019. During the project's development the station was named Isle of Dogs, before the current name was adopted. Construction will cost an estimated £500 million to complete.

Canada Square is surrounded by three of the tallest buildings in the United Kingdom, including One Canada Square, which was the tallest building in the United Kingdom from 1990 until late 2010, when it was surpassed by The Shard.

    Heron Quays is a light metro station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) Bank to Lewisham Line in the Heron Quays area of Canary Wharf in East London. The station is situated on the Isle of Dogs and serves the southern part of the Canary Wharf office complex and is directly connected to that complex's Jubilee Place underground shopping centre. The station is elevated and contained within one of the complex's office towers. It has an out of station interchange (OSI) for Canary Wharf Underground station on London Underground's Jubilee line. Through ticketing is allowed between both stations.

It is set to be the tallest residential building in Europe and will have more habitable floors than any other building in the UK (overtaking the current tallest residential tower, Deansgate Square South Tower). The development was formerly known as City Pride, the same name as the public house it replaces, before a name change in 2016.
