The Eminence is an historic estate house located on a 5.6 acre riverfront parcel at 122 Islington Road in the village of Auburndale in Newton, Massachusetts. Built in 1853, it was designed by noted Boston architect Hammatt Billings in the Italian Villa style of architecture, and is one of two surviving high-style Italianate estate houses in the Auburndale area. It was purchased, in unfinished state, by Thomas Hall, a magnetic instrument maker, in 1853.

The WHDH-TV tower is a free-standing lattice tower with a triangular cross section located in the Newton Upper Falls section of Newton, Massachusetts. It was built in 1960 by RKO General and is currently owned by Sunbeam Television, which uses it to transmit its Boston television stations, WHDH (channel 7) and WLVI (channel 56), which shares WHDH's channel spectrum. It was originally built for RKO-owned WNAC-TV, the original occupant of channel 7, until it surrendered its license in May 1982 due to long-standing issues with its parent company, when the tower and studio assets were transferred to the new channel 7 licensee.

Lasell University (LU) is a private university in Newton, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1851 as a women's seminary. It became a college in 1932, a four-year institution in 1989, coeducational in 1997, and a university proper in 2019. The campus spans 54 acres and is located in the village of Auburndale.

Newton North High School, formerly Newton High School, is the larger and longer-established of two public high schools in Newton, Massachusetts, the other being Newton South High School. It is located in the village of Newtonville. The school from 2009 to 2010 underwent controversial reconstruction of its facility, making it one of the largest and most expensive high schools ever built in the United States, with a price tag of nearly US$200 million. The new building opened for classes in September 2010.

Newton Highlands station is a surface-level light rail station located in Newton, Massachusetts on the Green Line D branch of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.

Eliot station is a light rail station on the MBTA Green Line D branch located just north of Route 9 (Boylston Street) between the Newton Highlands and Newton Upper Falls villages of Newton, Massachusetts. The station has a parking lot at the end of Lincoln Street, a pedestrian entrance from Meredith Avenue, and pedestrian entrances from both sides of Route 9. A footbridge, built in 1977, crosses Route 9 adjacent to the railroad bridge. Eliot station was made accessible in October 2024; additional reconstruction is planned to begin in 2026.

Riverside station is a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Green Line light rail station located in the Auburndale village of Newton, Massachusetts. It is the western terminal of the Green Line D branch service. The station is located near the interchange of Interstate 95 (Route 128) and the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) and serves as a regional park and ride station. West of the station is Riverside Yard, the main maintenance facility and largest storage yard for the Green Line. The station is fully accessible.

The Waban Library Center is a library located in a historic building at 1608 Beacon Street in Newton, Massachusetts. The building is a modest 1½ story Tudor Revival brick building, with a gabled slate roof and raised end walls. A cross-gabled entry area projects from the center of the front facade. It was designed by Densmore, LeClear & Robbins, and built in 1929 with funds raised by subscription from Newton's citizens. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Newton Commonwealth Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course located in Newton, Massachusetts, just outside the city of Boston. This course was originally created as a nine-hole course in 1897 and was previously named the Commonwealth Club. The course expanded into an 18-hole course and was redesigned by influential golf course designer and Newton resident Donald Ross. The course was converted into a public course in the late 1970s when the city of Newton purchased the Chestnut Hill Country Club because of the club's financial instability.
