    Marlin Oliver Briscoe (September 10, 1945 – June 27, 2022), nicknamed "The Magician", was a American football quarterback and wide receiver. In October 1968, after being drafted by the Denver Broncos of the American Football League (AFL), he became the first black starting quarterback in professional American football and established a Denver rookie record of 14 touchdown passes that season. He played professionally for nine years.

He was formerly the head coach at Oral Roberts, and is the all-time wins leader in school history while leading ORU to three NCAA Tournament, two National Invitational Tournament and two CollegeInsider.com Tournament postseason appearances in 14 seasons. The Golden Eagles had won 20 or more games in seven of the past 10 seasons.

    Alex Frank Stivrins (Latvian: Alekss Frenks Stivriņš; born November 29, 1962) is a retired Latvian-American professional basketball player. He was a 6'8" (203 cm) 220 lb (100 kg) small forward. Stivrins graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1980 and led East to three state basketball tournament appearances, where they won the state championship in 1978, qualified for state in 1979 and finished runner-up in 1980 in Class A, which is Nebraska's largest classification for high school athletics. He was a two-time Super State and All-Nebraska selection his junior and senior years. He played collegiately at Creighton University and the University of Colorado from 1980 to 1985. He continued his career in the NBA.

    Thomas Richard King (born April 4, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the first round (14th pick overall) of the 1991 NBA draft out of the University of Nebraska. Born in Lincoln and raised in Omaha, King was a high school standout in Nebraska. A 7'2", 260-lb. center, King played four seasons with the Sonics, appearing in a total of 72 games and averaging 1.9 ppg. King's professional career was cut short by injuries, undergoing 6 surgeries over his 7 years in the NBA.

    Robert Louis Boozer (April 26, 1937 – May 19, 2012) was an American professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Boozer won a gold medal in the 1960 Summer Olympics and won an NBA Championship as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks in 1971. Boozer was a member of the 1960 United States men's Olympic basketball team, which was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as a unit in 2010.

    Fredrick Kristian Hoiberg (born October 15, 1972) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He currently is the head coach for the University of Nebraska men's basketball program. He previously served as the head coach for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 2015 to 2018 and for the Iowa State University men's basketball team from 2010 to 2015. Hoiberg grew up in Ames, and played college basketball at Iowa State. He then played professional basketball for ten years and served as vice president for basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves before beginning his coaching career.

    David Dirk Hoppen (born March 13, 1964) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and other leagues. Hoppen played college basketball for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and is the program's all-time leading scorer. He was named All-Big Eight in each of his last three seasons and is generally considered one of the top players in school history. A 6'11" center, Hoppen was selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the third round (65th pick overall) of the 1986 NBA draft and played six NBA seasons.

He played outfield in the Major Leagues from 1913 to 1928. He played for the Boston Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, New York Giants, and Chicago Cubs. He was the head basketball coach at Rice Institute (1919–1920 season) Indiana University (1922–1923 through 1923–1924 seasons) and Springfield College (1924–1925 through 1925–1926 seasons). He compiled a career record of 43–30 in five seasons as a head basketball coach.
