Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiary (Persian: ثریا اسفندیاری بختیاری‎, Sorayâ Esfandiyâri-Baxtiyâri; 22 June 1932 – 26 October 2001) was the queen consort of Iran as the second wife of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, whom she married in 1951.

Rudabeh Bakhtiar (Persian: رودابه بختیار), better known as Rudi Bakhtiar, is an American journalist and television producer. She is a producer for Reuters in Washington, D.C. She is best known for anchoring CNN Headline News Tonight, as well as Anderson Cooper 360, Voice of America, and Reuters News.

David Afrasiab Assad Bakhtiari (born September 30, 1991) is an American football offensive tackle for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Colorado, and was drafted by the Packers in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Shapour Bakhtiar (Persian: شاپور بختیار‎ ; 26 June 1914 – 6 August 1991) was an Iranian politician who served as the last Prime Minister of Iran under the Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. In the words of historian Abbas Milani: "more than once in the tone of a jeremiad he reminded the nation of the dangers of clerical despotism, and of how the fascism of the mullahs would be darker than any military junta". He and his secretary were murdered in his home in Suresnes, near Paris by agents of the Islamic Republic.

Mehran Karimi Nasseri (Persian: مهران کریمی ناصری pronounced 1942 – 12 November 2022), also known as Sir Alfred Mehran, was an Iranian refugee who lived in the departure lounge of Terminal One in Charles de Gaulle Airport from 26 August 1988 until July 2006, when he was hospitalized. His autobiography was published as a book, The Terminal Man, in 2004. Nasseri's story inspired the 2004 film The Terminal.

Mohammad Mosaddegh (Persian: محمد مصدق‎; 16 June 1882 – 5 March 1967) was an Iranian politician who served as the 35th Prime Minister of Iran, holding office from 1951 until 1953, when his government was overthrown in the 1953 Iranian coup d'état orchestrated by the United States' Central Intelligence Agency and the United Kingdom's MI6.

Eric Assad Bakhtiari (born December 2, 1984) is a former American football linebacker. He was most recently playing for the San Francisco 49ers, but was cut from the team on January 1, 2013. He was signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He played college football at San Diego.

Teymur Bakhtiar (Persian: تیمور بختیار‎; 1914 – 12 August 1970) was an Iranian general and the founder and head of SAVAK from 1956 to 1961, when he was dismissed by the Shah. In 1970, SAVAK agents assassinated him in Iraq.
