Lene Schneider-Kainer, born Lene Schneider (1885 - 1971), was a Jewish-Austrian painter, daughter of the painter Sigmund Schneider, noted for her illustration of "Lukian:Hetärengespräche. Mit Illustrationen von Lene Schneider-Kainer und einem Nachwort von Sabine Dahmen".

Lisbeth Zwerger (born 1954) is an Austrian illustrator of children's books. For her "lasting contribution to children's literature" she received the international Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1990.

Elizabeth Monath (1907-1986) was an Austrian artist known for painting, children's book illustration and intaglio.

Renate Habinger(Sankt Pölten, August 11, 1957) is an Austrian graphic artist and illustrator. Habinger studied graphic design at the Federal Institute of Graphic Arts and Design (1971-1975) and since then, she has been working as a freelance artist. In 1997, she set up the workshop the "Schneiderhäusl" in Oberndorf an der Melk.

Margarete Hamerschlag (May 10, 1902, in Vienna – April 5, 1958, in London) was an Austrian artisan, painter, author and illustrator.

Bettina Ehrlich, née Bauer, (10 March 1903 – 10 October 1985) was an Austrian painter and illustrator of children's books, many of which she also wrote. She lived briefly in Berlin and Paris, and from 1938 in England.

Chief Susanne Wenger MFR, also known as Adunni Olorisha (c. 1915 – 12 January 2009), was an Austrian-Nigerian artist, illustrator and comics artist , who resided in Nigeria. Her main focus was the Yoruba culture and she was successful in building an artist cooperative in Osogbo. She partnered with local artists in Osogbo to redevelop and redecorate the Osun Grove with sculptures and carvings depicting the various activities of the Orishas.
