    2055 Dvořák, provisional designation 1974 DB, is an eccentric asteroid and sizable Mars-crosser from the innermost regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 8 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 19 February 1974, by Czech astronomer Luboš Kohoutek at the Bergedorf Observatory in Hamburg, Germany. It was named after Czech composer Antonín Dvořák.

    2074 Shoemaker, provisional designation 1974 UA, is a stony Hungaria asteroid, Mars-crosser and suspected synchronous binary system from the innermost regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 4 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 17 October 1974, by astronomer Eleanor Helin at the Palomar Observatory. She named it after American astronomer Eugene Shoemaker.

The asteroid was discovered by astronomers at Félix Aguilar Observatory at the Leoncito Astronomical Complex in Argentina on 10 October 1974. It was later named after the discovering site.

    Leda also known as Jupiter XIII, is a prograde irregular satellite of Jupiter. It was discovered by Charles T. Kowal at the Mount Palomar Observatory on September 14, 1974, after three nights' worth of photographic plates had been taken (September 11 through 13; Leda appears on all of them). It was named after Leda, who was raped by Zeus, the Greek equivalent of Jupiter (who came to her in the form of a swan). Kowal suggested the name and the IAU endorsed it in 1975.

    OH 471 (OHIO H 471) is a distant powerful quasar located in the northern constellation of Auriga. First discovered in 1974 from a photoelectric spectrophotometry, the object has a redshift of (z) 3.40. This high redshift makes it one of the most distant objects observed, giving it a nickname of "the blaze marking the edge of the universe." It is found to be significantly variable thus classifying it as a blazar.

    2039 Payne-Gaposchkin, provisional designation 1974 CA, is a carbonaceous Themistian asteroid from the outer regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 14 kilometers in diameter. The asteroid was discovered on 14 February 1974, by astronomers at the George R. Agassiz Station of the Harvard College Observatory in Massachusetts, United States. It was named for British–American astronomer Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin.

It was discovered on 17 October 1974, by American astronomer Charles Kowal at Palomar Observatory in California, who named it after his daughter, Loretta Kowal. The discovery of the asteroid took place during Kowal's follow-up observations of Jupiter's moon Leda, which he had discovered one month prior.

    3708 Socus (provisional designation:) is a large Jupiter trojan from the Trojan camp, approximately 77 kilometers (48 miles) in diameter. It was discovered on 21 March 1974, by staff members of the Cerro El Roble Observatory owned and operated by the Department of Astronomy of the University of Chile. The assumed C-type asteroid has a rotation period of 6.55 hours. It was named after Socus, a hero from Greek mythology, who was killed in battle by Odysseus.

It was discovered by Chilean astronomer Carlos Torres at the Cerro El Roble Station of the National Astronomical Observatory in Chile, on 22 March 1974, and named for astronomer Federico Alcina.
