Argentine emigrants to Uruguay

Julián Baltasar Mariano José Luis de la Santísima Trinidad Álvarez (Buenos Aires, (8 January 1788) – Montevideo, (25 November 1843) was an Argentine and Uruguayan lawyer and politician.

Gustavo Cristian Matosas Paidón (born 25 May 1967) is an Argentine-born Uruguayan former professional footballer who recently was the manager of Mexican club Atlético San Luis.

Paulina Luisi (1875–1950), was a leader of the feminist movement in the country of Uruguay. In 1909, she became the first Uruguayan woman to earn a medical degree in Uruguay. She was highly respected. She represented Uruguay in international women's conferences and traveled throughout Europe. She voiced her opinion on women's rights, and in 1919, Paulina started the force for women's rights in Uruguay. By 1922, the Pan-American Conference of Women named Paulina Luisi an honorary vice president of the meeting and she continued to be an activist until Uruguay gave women the right to vote.

Alejo Corral (born September 11, 1981) is a rugby union player from Argentina who represents Uruguay at international level. He is the younger brother of Matías Corral, former player of the first XV of San Isidro Club between 1988 and 1995, and Puma from 1992 until his retirement after the 1995 Rugby World Cup and Estanislao Corral, also former player of San Isidro Club, and member of the squad that drew against Australia in 1987. The three brothers are left props.

Atilio Ceferino García Pérez (Junin, Argentina, August 26, 1914 - Montevideo, Uruguay, December 12, 1973) was an Argentinian born Uruguayan naturalized footballer who played as a forward. He is the top goal scorer in the history of Uruguayan football with 465 goals scored in official tournaments and the second highest goal scorer in the history of the Uruguayan Football Championship with 208 goals scored in 210 matches, which also converted him in to the top goal scorer of the Uruguayan Championship playing for the same club. He is also the top scorer in the history of the "clasicos" between Nacional and Peñarol, with 35 goals. He played for Club Nacional de Football between 1938 and 1951.
