Michael Jackson's Ghosts is a 1996 short film starring Michael Jackson, directed by Stan Winston, and written by Stephen King and Mick Garris. It is based on a story by Garris, Jackson and King.

Frankenweenie is a 1984 American science fiction comedy horror featurette directed by Tim Burton and written by him and Leonard Ripps. It is both a parody and homage to the 1931 film Frankenstein based on Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. Burton later directed a feature-length stop-motion animated remake, released in 2012.

BlinkyTM (stylized as Blinky™) is a 2011 Irish-American short science fiction-horror film written, edited, and directed by Ruairí Robinson. The film stars Max Records, Robinson, Jenni Fontana and James Nardini. It tells the story of a boy who adopts a robot, but later neglects it, until the robot complies with commands to murder. The film was released on March 20, 2011.

Scared Shrekless is a 26-minute computer-animated Halloween horror comedy television special, set shortly after the events of Shrek Forever After, that premiered on the American television network NBC on October 28, 2010.

Rings is a 2005 American supernatural horror short film directed by Jonathan Liebesman, who co-wrote with Ehren Kruger. It serves as a sequel to The Ring (2002) and a prelude to the opening sequence of The Ring Two (2005), both written by Kruger. The film was initially released on March 8, 2005, as an extra disc with a re-release of the first film on DVD.

Project: S.E.R.A. is a 2012 zombie horror short film written and directed by Ben Howdeshell and starring Julia Voth. Voth previously portrayed Jill Valentine in the 2002 video game Resident Evil, and Project: S.E.R.A. was said to be inspired by the Resident Evil series. The film was later turned by IGN into a web series directed by Howdeshell and written by Bill Kirchen and Nathan Miller, starring Voth and Derek Theler, produced by Shawn Wallace, and executive produced by Bernard Ho and Grant Thompson, and Travis Milloy. It was launched on YouTube START channel on January 29, 2013.

All Flowers in Time is a 2010 short surrealist horror film directed by Jonathan Caouette. The plot centers on a television signal that possesses young children, making them believe they can transform into other people or monsters. The film stars Chloë Sevigny and has been screened at several film festivals as of Fall 2010. Although it shares a similar name, the film's title is not directly connected to the Jeff Buckley song, "All Flowers in Time Bend Towards the Sun".

The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon is a 10-minute short film released in 2008. It was filmed entirely in California over the course of 22 days. It was written, directed, and narrated by Richard Gale.

Broken (informally known as The Broken Movie) is a 1993 horror musical short film and long-form music video filmed and directed by Peter Christopherson. It is based on an idea by Trent Reznor, founder of industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, and is a companion piece to the 1992 Nine Inch Nails EP Broken.

Mike's New Car is a 2002 American animated comedy short film, starring the protagonists from Pixar's Monsters, Inc., Mike Wazowski and James P. "Sulley" Sullivan. Directed by Pete Docter and Roger L. Gould, it is the first Pixar short to use dialogue and the first to take characters and situations from a previously established work.
