Gunasena Galappatty (born June 7, 1927, in Dikwella in Matara, Sri Lanka) was a Sri Lankan dramatist, director, producer, and Sinhala radio play writer regarded as the pioneer of suspense drama in Sri Lanka.

Simon Navagattegama [also spelled Nawagattegama] (September 15, 1940 – October 9, 2005) was a Sinhala novelist, Sinhala Radio Play writer, playwright and actor.

Veerasingham Dhuruvasangary B.Sc, M.Sc., M. Phil (5 September 1950 - 2 December 2006) was a scientist and inventor born in Point Pedro, Sri Lanka. His father named him after the Pole Star, "Dhuruvan Natchathra". He is the youngest from 12 siblings. Being born in a successful family encouraged one of his brothers to V. Anandasangary, become a Tamil politician. Mahamood Lebbe Alim Mohamed Hizbullah (born 2 February 1963) is a Sri Lankan politician and state minister. He is one of the presidential candidates running in the 2019 Presidential Elections.

Gishan Dissanaike is a financial economist and holds the Adam Smith Professorial Chair in Corporate Governance at the University of Cambridge. He was, until recently, the Head of the Finance & Accounting Subject Group at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School. Sannas Mudiyanselage Kshanika Kumari Hirimburegama (known as Kshanika Hirimburegama) (born January 1, 1958) is a Sri Lankan academic. She was the 17th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Colombo. Prior to the appointment she was Head of the Department of Plant Sciences and a Member of the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. She vacated the position of Vice Chancellor when she assumed duties as the President of the University Grants Commission in 2013.

Ven Bogoda Seelawimala Nayaka Thera (Sinhala:????? ????? ??????? ??????) is the incumbent Head Priest of the London Buddhist Vihara and the current Chief Sangha Nayaka of Great Britain. He was appointed Chief Bhikkhu of the London Buddhist Vihara on 8 May 2008 following the demise of Ven Dr Medagama Vajiragnana Nayaka Thera. Ven Seelawimala Nayaka Thera hails from the Malwatte Chapter of the Siam Nikaya in Sri Lanka.
