Szilárd István Németh (born 24 April 1964) is a Hungarian teacher and politician. He served as the mayor of Csepel (21st district of Budapest) from 2010 to 2014. Besides that he represented Csepel (Budapest Constituency XXXI) in the National Assembly of Hungary between 2010 and 2014. He was also a member of parliament from the Budapest Regional List of Fidesz between 2004 and 2006, and from the Fidesz National List from 2009 to 2010 and since 2014.

János Kóka (born 5 July 1972) is a Hungarian businessman, private investor, IT entrepreneur and manager of various enterprises, who served as Minister of Economy and Transport between 2004 and 2007. He was a member of the Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ) and functioned as its chairman from 2007 to 2008. He also served as leader of the liberal party's parliamentary group until 2010, when SZDSZ failed to win any seats after 20 years. Kóka left the party that year. In 2010 he returned to business life and presently works as Chairman and CEO of Cellum Global Zrt. and Chairman of the Board of Cellum Bulgaria. He is married to Edit Varga.

János Kis (born 17 September 1943) is a Hungarian philosopher and political scientist, who served as the inaugural leader of the liberal Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ) from 1990 to 1991. He is considered to be the first Leader Hungarian parliamentary opposition.

Árpád Göncz (10 February 1922 – 6 October 2015) was a Hungarian writer, translator, agronomist and liberal politician, who served as President of Hungary from 2 May 1990 to 4 August 2000. Göncz played a role in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, for which he was imprisoned for six years. After his release, he worked as a translator of English-language literary works.

György (George) Konrád (2 April 1933 – 13 September 2019) was a Hungarian novelist and essayist, known as an advocate of individual freedom.

Gábor Demszky (born 4 August 1952 in Budapest, Hungary) is a Hungarian politician, lawyer and sociologist by qualification. Demszky was the Mayor of Budapest from 1990 to 2010. He was a founding member of the Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ) between 1988 and 2010.

László Rajk Jr. (26 January 1949, Budapest – 11 September 2019) was a Hungarian architect, designer and political activist.

Imre Mécs (4 September 1933 – 19 January 2023) was a Hungarian politician. Following the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, he was sentenced to death, then his sentence was mitigated to a prison sentence. He was released in 1963 and worked as an electrical engineer. Later he became a founding member of the Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ). He was elected on the SZDSZ party ticket to the Hungarian Parliament in 1990 and served several consecutive terms. Over differences with his party, he quit SZDSZ and was elected on the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) ticket (but not a member of) in 2006. He did not manage to win a seat in the 2010 elections, ending his parliamentary career. In January 2011 he rejoined his old party, SZDSZ.

Mátyás Eörsi (born 24 November 1954) is a Hungarian politician who was the leader of the liberal Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (ALDE-PACE) Group in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). He became a member of the PACE in 1994. On 6 March 2009 the Hungarian government nominated Eörsi to Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

Bálint Magyar (born as János Magyar; 15 November 1952) is a Hungarian politician, who served as Minister of Education between 1996–1998 and between 2002–2006. He was a founding member of the Alliance of Free Democrats.
