African Games silver medalists for Kenya

Julius Yego (born 4 January 1989) is a Kenyan track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. Nicknamed "Mr. YouTube" because he learned how to throw by watching YouTube videos of javelin athletes, Yego is the African record and Commonwealth record holder for the event with a personal best of 92.72 m.

Bedan Karoki Muchiri (born 21 August 1990) is a Kenyan long distance runner who competes in track, cross country and road running disciplines. He represented Kenya at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.

Joyce Chepkirui (born 20 August 1988) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in road running events. She established herself as a half marathon runner, winning races in Granollers, Bogotá and Gothenburg. She set a best of 1:06:19 hours to win the 2014 Prague Half Marathon. She also competes in 10K road races and her personal best of 30:38 minutes makes her fifth fastest woman ever.

Boaz Kiplagat Lalang (born 8 February 1989) is a Kenyan middle distance runner, who specialises in the 800 metres. His younger brother, Lawi Lalang, ran for the University of Arizona.

Rose Tata-Muya (born 12 June 1960) is a retired runner from Kenya who specialised mainly in 400m hurdles. She won medals at continental level and competed at the Olympics, World Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Gideon Yego (born 28 August 1965) is a retired Kenyan athlete who specialized in the 400 metres hurdles.

Veronica Nyaruai Wanjiru (born October 29, 1989 in Nyahururu) is a Kenyan runner who specialises in 1500 metres. She now lives in Kaptagat, where she attends PACE training camp.

Jason Edward Dunford, OGW, OLY (born 28 November 1986), also known as Samaki Mkuu, is a Kenyan Olympic swimmer, media personality, rapper and entrepreneur. During his swimming career he was predominantly a butterfly and freestyle sprinter winning gold medals at the Commonwealth Games, Universiade, All-Africa Games and African Championships, and reaching finals at the Olympics, World Championships and Short Course World Championships. He also held African, Universiade and Olympic records. He has worked as a broadcast journalist for the BBC, is a co-founder and adviser to software company, Safi Analytics and currently serves as the CEO of Baila Entertainment whilst performing as Samaki Mkuu, one half of the rap duo Romantico & Samaki Mkuu.

Lydia Cheromei (born 15 May 1977, in Baringo District) is a Kenyan athlete born into a family of athletes. She specialises in long distance running. She rose to fame at the age of thirteen with a win in the junior race at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships. She took some years away from competition, citing burnout, and returned in the mid-nineties, making an appearance at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Stephen ("Steve") Muchoki (born 23 December 1956) is a retired light flyweight boxer from Kenya, who had an excellent career (197 wins, three losses) as an amateur. He won the silver medal at the inaugural 1974 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Havana, Cuba. The same year he captured the title at the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, New Zealand.
