21st-century Argentine women writers

María Elena Walsh (1 February 1930 – 10 January 2011) was an Argentine poet, novelist, musician, playwright, writer and composer, mainly known for her songs and books for children.

Lucía Puenzo (born 28 November 1976, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine author, screenwriter and film director. She is the daughter of the Oscar-winning film director, producer, and screenplay writer, Luis Puenzo.

Gabriela Carla Cerruti (born 9 December 1965) is an Argentine journalist, writer, and politician. In 2007 she was elected to the Buenos Aires City Legislature, and subsequently re-elected for the 2011–2015 term. She was part of the New Encounter bloc, a party for which she was one of the main references in her district. She is currently a member of the Chamber of Deputies for the term 2017–2021 for Citizen's Unity.

Samanta Schweblin (born 1978) is an Argentine Spanish-language author, who has published three collection of short stories, a novella and a novel, besides having stories published in anthologies and magazines. Her work has won numerous awards and has been translated in more than 20 languages including English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Serbian, and Swedish. She resides in Berlin.

Alicia Kozameh (born March 20, 1953 in Rosario, Argentina) is an Argentine novelist, short story writer and poet, and Professor in the Creative Writing Program, Department of English, at Chapman University in Southern California. Kozameh has published seven novels, a collection of short stories and three books of poetry. She has also edited two anthologies and wrote a book in collaboration with other authors, former political prisoners from the last Argentine military dictatorship in her country.

Andrea Graciela Giunta (born 5 May 1960) is an Argentine art historian, professor, researcher, and curator.

Susy Shock (born 6 December 1968) is an Argentine actress, writer, and singer who defines herself as a "trans sudaca artist".

Leila Guerriero (born 17 February 1967) is an Argentine journalist and writer.

Cristina Mucci (born 24 January 1949) is an Argentine writer and journalist. Since 1987 she has been directing and producing the television program Los siete locos, dedicated to the dissemination of books and culture. She is the author of books about Argentine writers, such as Leopoldo Lugones and three emblematic women of Argentine literature from the 1950s–60s: Marta Lynch, Silvina Bullrich, and Beatriz Guido.

Hebe Uhart (2 December 1936 – 11 October 2018) was an Argentine writer. In 2017, she received the Manuel Rojas Ibero-American Narrative Award.
