Angela Gheorghiu ( née Burlacu; born 7 September 1965) is a Romanian soprano, especially known for her performances in the operas of Puccini.

Maria Cebotari (original name: Ciubotaru, 10 February 1910–9 June 1949) was a Bessarabian-Romanian lyric coloratura soprano. She was an opera singing star of the 1930s and 1940s.

Victoria Frincu (born 11 March 1937), known professionally as Victoria Bezetti, is a Romanian classical soprano who had an active performance career from the 1960s through the 1990s.

Elena Cernei (1 November 1924 – 27 November 2000) was a Romanian operatic mezzo-soprano, musicologist, and voice teacher. During her 25-year career as an opera singer, she sang in leading opera houses in both Europe and North America. In 1963, she was made Artistă Emerită (Honoured Artist) of the Republic of Romania and in 1999 received the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from the National University of Music Bucharest for her contributions to the field of musicology.

Leontina Văduva (born 1 December 1960) is a Romanian soprano. Born in Roșiile, she studied at the Bucharest Conservatory with Ileana Cotrubaș, and debuted in the title role of Manon at Toulouse in 1987. A recipient of the Laurence Olivier Opera Award, she has often appeared at Covent Garden, in Rigoletto (opposite Ingvar Wixell and Jerry Hadley, 1989), Carmen (as Micaëla, 1991 and 1994), and Roméo et Juliette (1994). Leontina Vaduva is the daughter of the Romanian popular music singer Maria Ciobanu.

Ruxandra Donose (born 2 September 1964, in Bucharest) is a Romanian operatic mezzo-soprano.

Viorica Cortez (born December 26, 1935) is a noted Romanian-born mezzo-soprano, later French by naturalisation. Starting her operatic and concert career in the mid-1960s, she went on to become one of the most prominent female performers of the '70s and '80s. An example of professional longevity, she is present on some of the most prestigious European opera scenes.
