    The 2017 AFL Women's season was the first season of the elite women's Australian rules football competition. Eight teams competed in the league, all of which are associated with existing Australian Football League (AFL) clubs. The first game was played on Friday, 3 February, and the season concluded with the grand final on Saturday, 25 March.

Miller was drafted by Fremantle with their first selection and fourth overall in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in the thirty-two point loss to the Western Bulldogs at VU Whitten Oval in the opening round of the 2017 season. She played every match in her debut season to finish with seven matches.

She played her first game of football when, after going to a friend's football game to spectate, she was forced to take to the field after an injury to one of the other players having never kicked a football before. She went on to win a premiership with Morphettville Park Football Club and being drafted by Adelaide for the first season of the AFLW.

She was a part of Adelaide's premiership side after the club defeated Brisbane by six points at Metricon Stadium in the AFL Women's Grand Final. She played every match in her debut season to finish with eight matches.
