Paris Basket Racing, or PBR, was a French professional basketball club from Paris. It was founded in 1922, as the basketball section of the multi-sports club Racing Club de Paris. The team took the name "Paris Basket Racing" in 2000. In 2007, the club merged with another club from the Paris area, Levallois Sporting Club Basket, to form the current version of the club, known first as Paris-Levallois Basket, and later as Levallois Metropolitans and Metropolitans 92.

Sollac (Société Lorraine de Laminage Continu) was a French steel company formed in December 1948 as a cooperative to produce steel rolls in Lorraine from steel provided by several other companies. There were various changes of ownership during the years that followed. In 1970 the company, under pressure from the French government, began to develop a large new continuous strip mill in the south of France. The French steel industry soon went into crisis, with excess capacity and declining demands from automobile manufacturers and the construction industry. Sollac became a subsidiary of Usinor in 1987, responsible for all flat products. In 2002 Usinor became part of Arcelor, which in turn was merged into ArcelorMittal in 2006.

The Parachute Intervention Squadron of the National Gendarmerie (French: Escadron Parachutiste d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale) (EPIGN) was the parachute-trained intervention squadron of the French Gendarmerie. The unit was formed in 1984 with personnel from EPGM, a one-of-a-kind parachute squadron that had been created within the mobile gendarmerie in 1971 and was disestablished at that date. EPIGN, which was based in Versailles-Satory with its sister unit GIGN. Besides its primary mission of providing heavy support and reinforcement to GIGN, EPIGN soon developed its own set of missions in the fields of protection and observation. It was finally absorbed, together with the "old" GIGN, into the newly reorganized GIGN in September 2007.

TPS Foot was a French sports channel that was dedicated to airing football matches and was owned by French satellite provider TPS.

The Union for French Democracy (French: Union pour la Démocratie Française, UDF) was a centre-right political party in France. It was founded in 1978 as an electoral alliance to support President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing in order to counterbalance the Gaullist preponderance over the political right in France. This name was chosen due to the title of Giscard d'Estaing's 1976 book, Démocratie Française. The party brought together Christian democrats, liberals and radicals, and non-Gaullist conservatives, and described itself as centrist.

The Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon (INA P-G) was a French university-level institution of grande école-type. It offered master's degree in agricultural- and life sciences. It was created in 1971 by merging the Institut national agronomique (Paris) and the École nationale supérieure d'Agronomie de Grignon, thus having a history that goes back to 1826.

Olympique Thonon Chablais, known as Club Sportif de Thonon until 1987, was a football club based in Thonon-les-Bains, France. Founded in 1909, the club's colours were yellow and blue. The team played its home matches at the Stade Joseph-Moynat.

The French Senior Open (or Open de France Senior) was a senior (over 50s) men's professional golf tournament on the European Senior Tour. In 1994 and 2004 it was played at Golf d'Omaha Beach, Port-en-Bessin, Normandy, in 1998 and 1999 it was played at Pau Golf Club, Pau, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in 2000 it was played at Golf de Joyenval, Chambourcy near Paris and in 2007 at Golf de Divonne-les-Bains in Divonne-les-Bains, ten miles north of Geneva. The prize fund was €200,000 in 2004 and €325,000 in 2007.
