    Robert John Lechmere Guppy (15 August 1836 in London – 5 August 1916 in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago) was a British-born naturalist after whom the guppy is named. He contributed much to the geology, palaeontology and zoology of the West Indian region, in particular Trinidad.

He was a member of the Geological Society of London who joined and led research during England's West Indian Geological Surveys of the islands of Trinidad and Jamaica. He also worked in the mining industries of Jamaica, Peru, Hawaii, and Australia.

    Jonas Mohammed Bath (died September 1838) was a community and religious leader during the nineteenth century in Trinidad. Born in West Africa, he was enslaved and transported to Trinidad in 1804 or 1805. He was able to purchase his freedom, and went on to be leader of the Mandingo population in Trinidad and was described as "chief priest and patriarch" of the entire Muslim population of the colony. Bath petitioned the British government to repatriate the Mandingo community to Africa in 1833 and 1838, but both petitions were rejected.

    Anthony Browne Johnston Clogstoun (1815 - 15 January 1851) was acting lieutenant governor of the Gambia from 1837 to September 1838. He was appointed Marshal of the Island of Trinidad, the place of his birth, in 1840 and held the position until his death.

    Edward Lanzer Joseph or E. L. Joseph was a journalist and novelist in Trinidad (born in England in 1792 or 1793 and died in Trinidad in 1838) who emigrated to Trinidad in 1817. E. L. Joseph is the author of the novel Warner Arundell: The Adventures of a Creole published in 1838. He also wrote History of Trinidad which was also published in 1838.

    Sir Henry Albert Alcazar (30 September 1860 – 13 July 1930) was a Trinidadian politician who served as the mayor of Port of Spain and a member of the Legislative Council of Trinidad and Tobago. A reformer, Alcazar campaigned for the inclusion of elected members in the Legislative Council. In the aftermath of the 1903 Water Riots, Alcazar successfully defended people charged with inciting a riot. In 1915 he was appointed to the Executive Committee which advised the governor, and was knighted in 1918.
