    The first season of the CBS action-adventure drama series MacGyver premiered on September 23, 2016, for the 2016–17 television season. The series centers on the fictional Phoenix Foundation which is a covert organization masquerading as a think tank. The series stars Lucas Till, George Eads, Tristin Mays, and Justin Hires. Sandrine Holt was also cast in the series but departed in "Screwdriver". Meredith Eaton replaced Holt, Eaton debuted in "Large Blade" and began receiving main billing in "Flashlight". CBS announced the series on October 1, 2015. It was ordered to series on May 13, 2016, and received a full season order of twenty-two episodes on October 17, 2016. Only twenty-one episodes were produced when the season concluded on April 14, 2017. The season contained a fictional crossover with Hawaii Five-0 which occurred in episode eighteen.

    The first season of Jem aired between November 3, 1985, and March 15, 1987, as a first-run syndication in the United States. The season has a total of 26 episodes each with a running time of approximately 22 minutes. The first 5 episodes initially aired as 15 7-minute segments with each episode broken into 3 parts. There was a later version of the first 5 episodes which came out in 1986 when the show first came into syndication where some scenes from the original 7 minute segments were either altered, extended (like a lot of the music videos sequences) or removed entirely.
