    Powhatan (c. 1547 – c. 1618), whose proper name was Wahunsenacawh (alternately spelled Wahunsenacah, Wahunsunacock or Wahunsonacock), was the leader of the Powhatan, an alliance of Algonquian-speaking Native Americans living in Tsenacommacah, in the Tidewater region of Virginia at the time when English settlers landed at Jamestown in 1607.

    Sir Walter Raleigh (c.(or 1554) – 29 October 1618), also spelled Ralegh, was an English landed gentleman, writer, poet, soldier, politician, courtier, spy and explorer. He was a cousin of Sir Richard Grenville and younger half-brother of Sir Humphrey Gilbert. He is also well known for popularising tobacco in England. Raleigh was one of the most notable figures of the Elizabethan era.

    Martín Casillas (1556–1618) was a Spanish architect (″alarife″), best known for designing the Cathedral of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico. His place of birth is disputed between the cities of Almendralejo and Trujillo (Cáceres) in Extremadura. He trained with Francisco Becerra, with whom he would reach new Spain as an apprentice in 1573. Another option is that he arrived later along with Alonso Pablos (or Sanchez), another member of his workshop. He worked then and at least until 1585, in the «medias muestras» (mediums of the toral pillars) of the Cathedral of Mexico, the work directed by Claudio de Arciniega, moving then to the city of Guadalajara. There is documentation of his work in Jalisco, including the transfer of land in the Valle de Guadalupe, Jalisco.

    Cuyen (Manchu: ᠴᡠᠶᡝᠨ, Möllendorff: cuyen, Abkai: quyen; 1580 – 14 October 1615) was a Manchu prince and eldest son of the Later Jin ruler Nurhaci, the early patriarch of the Qing dynasty. An accomplished warrior, Cuyen was instrumental in the consolidation of Nurhaci's authority among rival Jurchen clans. He also served as the primary civil administrator for intermittent periods in the regime founded by Nurhaci. However, he eventually lost favour with his father because he tried to cast sorcery spells against other princes. He was placed in solitary confinement and died in captivity a few years later.

    Margherita Gonzaga d'Este, Duchess of Ferrara (27 May 1564 – 6 January 1618) was an Italian noblewoman, the daughter of William I, Duke of Mantua (Guglielmo Gonzaga), and Eleonora of Austria, and the sister of Vincent I, Duke of Mantua, and Anna Caterina Gonzaga. She was the wife of Alfonso II d'Este, Duke of Ferrara and Modena, whom she married in February 1579. This was the duke's third marriage, and it was hoped that she would produce a male heir. She did not, which partially led to the city of Ferrara's acquisition by the Papal States.

He was one of the founders of the genre of opera, and one of the most influential creators of the new Baroque style. He was also the father of the composer Francesca Caccini and the singer Settimia Caccini.

He was a son of Albert of Prussia and Anna Marie of Brunswick-Lüneburg. He was the second and last Prussian duke of the Ansbach branch of the Hohenzollern family.
