    The Battle on Pyana River (Russian: Сражение на реке Пьяне) took place on August 2, 1377 on the Pyana River between the Golden Horde under Arab Shah (Arapsha) and an alliance of Russian principalities led by Prince Ivan Dmitriyevich, made up of the Pereyaslavl, Yaroslavl, Yuryev, Nizhny Novgorod, and Murom principalities.

    The Novgorod First Chronicle (Russian: Новгоро́дская пе́рвая ле́топись, Novgoródskaya pérvaya létopisʹ, commonly abbreviated as NPL), also known by its 1914 English edition title The Chronicle of Novgorod, 1016–1471, is the oldest extant Rus' chronicle of the Novgorod Republic. Written in Old East Slavic, it reflects a literary tradition about Kievan Rus' which differs from the Primary Chronicle.

    The Battle of Skornishchevo was fought between the Principality of Moscow and the Principality of Ryazan on 14 December 1371. The battle took place near Pereyaslavl Ryazansky on the site, which was called Skornishchevo. The Muscovites won the battle, forcing Oleg II of Ryazan to flee, and not return to his throne for six months. The battle took place within the context of the Lithuanian–Muscovite War (1368–1372), and the wider Great Troubles within the Golden Horde (1359–1381).
