She was born in Pretoria, educated at Centurion High School and, after playing for Highveld Women and Northerns Women, was selected as part of the South Africa national women's cricket team for the 2009 Women's Cricket World Cup in Australia and becoming a regular presence in the squad, being called for the 2013 Women's Cricket World Cup as well as representing South Africa at the Women's World Twenty20 in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2014. Starting as a leg spinner she made her debut at the 2010 World Cup with only 15 years of age against the West Indies at Newcastle and in her second match took 3/11 as South Africa beat Sri Lanka in Sydney to claim 7th place in the tournament. Through the years she has developed into an all-rounder and became a T20 opening batsmen.
