    Schalk Willem Petrus Burger Jr. (born 13 April 1983 in Port Elizabeth) is a South African rugby union player. He plays the position of flanker for the Springboks, as well as representing Stormers in Super Rugby and Western Province in the Currie Cup. He has also been selected four times for the Barbarians.
    Renowned for his high work ethic and dynamic, robust and physical style of play, Burger is one of world rugby's most decorated players. He is a member of the 2007 Rugby World Cup-winning team, has twice been named South African Rugby Player of the Year (in 2004 and 2011), and was named IRB Player of the Year in 2004, among other accolades. He also holds the record for the most appearances (68) and most tries scored by a Springbok flanker (13). However, Burger's physical approach has also resulted in him being shown a yellow card six times in international rugby, second only to Italy's Marco Bortolami (7 times) as of June 2014. Burger has also suffered injuries, especially to his neck and knee, which have sidelined him for considerable periods at a time.

    Adriaan "Attie" Jacobus van Heerden (10 March 1898 – 14 October 1965) was a South African Olympian 400-metre hurdler, rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1920s, playing representative level rugby union (RU) for South Africa (Springboks), at provincial level for Western Province, and Transvaal, and at university level for Stellenbosch University, as a Wing, i.e. number 11 or 14, and playing representative level rugby league (RL) for Other Nationalities, and at club level for Wigan, and Leigh, as a Wing, i.e. number 3 or 4. Attie van Heerden played for Wigan in the same era as fellow South African Afrikaner David Booysen.

    Jean de Villiers (born (1981-02-24)24 February 1981 in Paarl) is a South African rugby union footballer. He started his career at wing, but now primarily plays inside centre. De Villiers plays for Western Province in the Currie Cup, the Stormers in Super Rugby and internationally for South Africa, for whom he was named captain in June 2012.

    Pieter Jeremias Blignaut


    Pieter Jeremias Blignaut (Paarl, 26 June 1841 – Bloemfontein 1 November 1909) was a South African (Boer) civil servant, Government Secretary of the Orange Free State (1879–1902), and served twice as Acting State President, first after the death of President Brand (1888–1889), and again after the resignation of President Reitz in 1895–1896. After the conclusion of the South African War, Blignaut served as member of both the legislative council and the Legislative Assembly of the Orange River Colony. He was also a member of several state commissions.

    Marius Charl Joubert (born 10 July 1979 in Paarl, Western Cape) is a South African rugby union player who plays as a centre for Natal Sharks in the Super 15. He has previously played for the Boland Cavaliers, Free State Cheetahs, ASM Clermont Auvergne and Western Province in the Currie Cup and the Stormers and the Central Cheetahs in Super Rugby. Joubert was educated at Paarl Gimnasium, alongside current Springboks and former Western Province and Stormers teammates De Wet Barry and Jean de Villiers. A few years later, the same school produced another current Springbok star in Schalk Burger.

    De Wet Barry (born 24 June 1978 in Ceres, Western Cape) is a former South African rugby union footballer who played 38 test matches for the South African national rugby union team the Springboks.
